Pantech Crux (Verizon Wireless)

The Pantech Crux offers a lot of features and a distinctive design, but the touch screen UI needs work.

Sleek appearance. Solid video playback. Great battery life.

Finicky touch screen and lock mechanism. Sluggish. Poor stereo Bluetooth performance.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions For multimedia, there's just 36MB of free user memory. My 32GB SanDisk MicroSD card worked fine, and Pantech includes a 1GB card to get you started. The standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack is a welcome addition for...

Pantech Crux (Verizon Wireless) review: Pantech Crux (Verizon Wireless)

Pantech is known for making relatively basic feature phones. Some have touch screens, like the Pantech Laser , and some don't, like the Pantech Jest . However, almost all of them have keypads or full keyboards--we had yet to see a touch-screen-only...

The Pantech Crux is slim and lightweight with a bright and colorful touch-screen display. It has external media keys, a 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, a 3-megapixel camera, an HTML browser, and threaded messaging. The music player has...

The Pantech Crux has sluggish performance, and the touch screen can be rather finicky. Call quality is mixed.

The Pantech Crux makes a good multimedia feature phone on paper, but its poor touch-screen performance prevents us from recommending it.

Pantech Crux Review

Pantech hasn't been a major player for Verizon Wireless, usually releasing just one or two phones per year, of which most have been texting devices, such as the Pantech Jest, Razzle, and Blitz. Now that touchscreen phones have become all the rage,...

Pantech Crux Review by Sydney

Love listening to music on the go? Don't want a smartphone? Verizon and Pantech have heard your cries for help and have produced just the phone for you - the Pantech Crux.

Unique form-factor; interesting UI may appeal to some; 3.5mm headphone jack; external media controls

UI may appeal to some, but may be a turn-off for others; mediocre camera performance; virtual keyboard wasn't that great

The Pantech Crux is definitely not a messaging phone, though no one claimed that it was, but I'm not even sure I like it as a featurephone. However, I understand that most of my qualms were simply due to personal preference. You may like the wonky UI...

Review: Pantech Crux

Pantech's Crux offers good call quality, strong battery life, and solid build quality. Are those enough to overcome the goofy sliding lock design?

"You'll flee, how this made it, I'm not even sure"

I had multiple issues with these phones, so much so I had 5 of them, 3 given refurbished and 2 new. I kept going back but the answer was always "sir, we will replace it with another Crux phone." I had never been offered a new replacement (different...

The screen is big when it's not white!

The phone is really bad, and the Verizon service is even worse!!! The alarm system was broken after a day of activation, the calendar alarm broken later on, the touch screen rarely worked, and the call dropped often... It's the worst experience I've...

"Worst phone I've ever had."

I've had this phone for close to 2 years. It's absolutely awful. Don't even consider it, you will be disappointed.

Loud speaker, brightness

Touch screen never works, the top layer of the touch screen chips off, doen't give text messages (have to restart the phone)

Avis d'utilisateur (cnet.com)

"Worst phone I've ever had."

The overall concept of this phone is pretty good, but it's major downfall is the touch screen. When you buy a touchscreen phone, you expect it to actually work and be operable for at least a year or two. I was disappointed with the Crux within the week...

- OUTSTANDING battery life

- The GUI is very slow and lags a lot
