Works as advertised

Having it used near plasma tv and Fluorescent lights caused problem until I shielded the usb recepter with a small dishlike (3 ") cardboard cone with a reflective surface and pointed it at our seating . It is effective over 100 degrees and 20 feet..

Abundance of useful buttons ; Win7 ULT 64 ready ; Plug and play ; HTPC/WMC

Was slow at first ; Solution below

USB Keyboard emulation, not lirc friendly

Trying to replace my serial based lirc setup, but will have to wait for another cheap USB deal.

Emulates a keyboard, so any accidental presses can inject characters ; Not a true USB MCE remote - have to setup lirc with devinput driver instead of mceusb

great for WMC

It's infrared, so be sure to position the USB receiver so that you have line-of-sight when you aim the remote. I used a USB extension cable to place the receiver next to the TV.

Nice, inexpensive tool for a couch potato using Windows Media Center. These were included with the DIAMOND ATI TV Wonder HD 650 Combo Tuner for a while, so I have three of them. They are designed specifically for WMC, and are all you need while using...

Like any remote, takes some patience while learning the button functions

Its ok, but....

The "*" button is also the "." button, which for some reason took me 6 weeks to figure out. so, trying to change to somehting like "channel 12.2" was annoying.

Nice remote, works with WMC

doesnt have a Page UP or Page Down, so get used to scrolling by clicking the up or down arrow

Love it ! Best $ I spent this year.

Love it. Works flawlessly with Win 7. Wakes up my PC and records. Came with a free remote. Rebate too ! Best money I spent on a tech item this year ; People complain that you need a front USB port to plug the remote adapter into - get an extension...

Ugly remote, but works well with WMC

It's a decent remote, but given the build quality and aesthetics, it's only worth it if it's free/bundled or cost $15 (including shipping) in my opinion. This remote is also one of the more reliable Diamond products I've own and like (dispite its...

Completely works with WMC and includes WMC buttons. (green start button, record-tv, etc) ; No drivers needed

The remote is ugly and feels cheap compared to say, an HP Media Center remote, or to a Logitech Harmony remote. (But those remote cost more, sometimes a lot more) ; This ir receiver is not a "ehome" compatible ir receiver, so it does not recognize...

Simple PC Remote

This remote was a freebie; thankfully, I didn't need it. It works alright for controlling volume and playing music, but if you need it for controlling a TV tuner you'll want something else.

Let's you control you're PC via remote

You must have a free front USB port to plug the receiver into. (line-of-sight needed) ; No IR blaster (for anyone using a TV tuner, you will need a remote with an IR blaster to control your satellite/cable box). Will work for over-the-air signals just...

A must have with any tuner card

First off, I love this remote. It doesn't look/feel cheap. I use it all the time and it works very well with WMC in Win7, just like any cable/satellite remote & guide would. So, I didn't knock off an egg for this, since I use it constantly, but, this...

Free gift with an ati hd 650 purchase. Works very well with WMC (Every button functions). USB extension cable

battery compartment *see other thoughts

Fine For the Money

I've used it to record HDTV and play it back while fast forwarding through commercials so the software does work.

Using for OTA HD TV and it gets great reception and fine picutre for my HTPC. I'm using Samsung LED LCD 1080P HDTV for the HTPC monitor. Using Picutre in Picture to watch the same baseball game on both at the same time. Picture on the card is as good...

Catalyst Media Center software is a little wonky
