HP Pavilion P6130f Desktop PC

HP's Pavilion P6130f desktop ($600, as of November 15, 2009) goes toe-to-toe against the Gateway DX4200-11 value PC, but loses out to the Gateway's better design and stronger overall configuration. Elsewhere in the value PC category, similarly priced...

Above-average storage capacity

Cheaper PCs pack more of a performance punch ; No Gigabit ethernet

HP's Value desktop ultimately competes in performance and price against other HP Pavilions.

Win7 Upgrade?

I just ordered this. I hope this DOES qualify for the Win 7 Upgrade. From the HP web site: this model is listed, the purchase date is in range, and the installed OS is qualifying (Vista Home Premium). However, if it DOES qualify, I wonder why NewEgg...

Overall-ok system

Extremely disappointed in the fact that I will not be able to upgrade to Win7 without paying the upgrade fee. That is one of the reasons I bought this particular computer.

The system arrived and worked correctly out of the box, was fairly easy to integrate into my network and wi-fi laptops

The OS does NOT qualify for the Win7 upgrade, which I thought it would. Also found out my Xerox laser printer drivers will not work with Vista Premium and there is NO UPDATE available. Will have to purchase another laster or put it elsewhere on the...

NEW HP P6130F

So far we are impressed. We bought for a family all use computer with emphasis on research and pictures. We have 3 other computers in the house (old but meet our needs). Easy set-up. Wireless is very good. Keyboard has good tactile response. Web access...

The Vista is hard to network with other non-vista computers. In fact could not find our printer on the main computer. we will continue to try and update the review when and how we have success getting connected to the family network printer

very unhappy

Will do clean OS install and see how it will work

in my budget

Tried to upgrade immediately upon arrival to Ultimate - could not as it does not upgrade from "built" OS. Loaded SP2, loaded Office Ultimate 07 , could not see icons or activate programs properly, Uninstalled, reinstalled. Unsuccessfully. OS corrupted...

Good for everyday uses

I use my PC for everything but PC gaming and this suites my needs perfectly. You can probably use it as a gaming machine if you replaced the power supply and added a better video card. Heat might be an issue too, there certainly aren't as many vents as...

8gb RAM expandable to 16gb (all slots are full) ; DVI output ; Quad core AMD processor ; quite despite 2 fans ; room for expansion, PCI Express x16 ; motherboard supports RAID 0,1 although I haven't set it up yet ; Qualifies for free Windows 7 upgrade

Only 300 watt power supply ; Video card is very basic ; HP installed software is annoying but easily removed
