5.1 works as it should.If you are going to get this, keep in mind, your power needs to be clean. If it isn't get a big UPS and you'll do fine. The sub has it's own power supply and a good surge will kill it (the guy who complained and lives in a place...

Really impressed with what a good receiver and speakers can do for my movie watching experience. So far this device has not failed to disappoint. It can drive you out of the room if you turn it past the negative dbs. I think Yamaha has just won...

Awesome beginner system

 

This system rocks. Set it up easy and got to rocking my blu rays, xbox, HD Television and computer. Lots of HDMI ports. I also got this on when it was on sale for 299.95

The only cons are that this is a cost friendly system. Yes the sound quality is not as good as bose or higher priced surround, but the sound is still awesome and blows away everyday use

Great Product

 

This was exactly what i was looking for. It has four HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. It has five speakers which sound great for their size. There is also lots of audio customization options. The subwoofer is very loud and has good deep sounding base....

Nice Yamaha Receiver with good features and plenty of power for a base receiver. I have an almost identical model I have had a little over a year and I still like it as well

The speakers are only ok. There is no auto on/off on the sub. It has to be turned on and off manually

Consider upgrading the speaker wire for clearer sound
