The Sony KDL-32R400A is the closest you'll get to an all-round performer in a 32-inch television.
The ; has solid black levels, shadow detail, and color saturation for a small, budget TV; it handles 1080p/24 properly; it has very good sound quality for a TV of this size; and its design is sleek and modern.
Its so-called 120Hz refresh rate does almost nothing to improve picture quality; it has more blurring than competing sets; inaccurate colors and sparse features.
The Sony KDL-32R400A is the closest you'll get to a jack-of-all-trades performer in a 32-inch television.

If you're looking for a small TV for a bedroom or game room, it can be tempting to simply buy the cheapest thing you can find, but it's worth shopping around a little. While some people would discount Sony for being unnecessarily expensive, the...

A solid choice for a second or third low-cost HDTV, Sony's 32R400A compensates for a less-than-perfect picture with a wide viewing angle and a relatively low price.
Inexpensive. Good viewing angles. 120Hz refresh rate.
Dull colors. Muddled shadow details.
The Sony 32R400A is a capable low-priced set that comes with the same flaws you get with many other budget TVs: a lack of features and middling picture quality. The colors, despite looking undersaturated, are relatively accurate compared with some...

With great color production and sluggish motion response, the R400A is fantastically mediocre.

In looking for a smaller TV, I first bought a Samsung UN32EH5300F Smart TV. It's image quality and features were great. But, to my dismay, I found that it was not compatible with mirroring my Apple devices which was important to me so I returned it for...
Given my high expectations of a Sony product, I'm hard pressed to come up with a Pro for this TV. The sound was okay. It does apparently work with AppleTV
This TV has a very cheap feel to it as compared to the Samsung I tried. The remote is poorly designed and constructed. The picture quality lacks sharpness. The 720P doesn't cut the mustard in this case. The menus are scant and awkward to navigate.

It is a decent tv to purchase if you just need something decent for a split laptop or desktop display for gaming or visual tech based needs. I'd say its pretty nice in all directions, except for that red dot of course.....
It came with two hdmi ports and it was simple to grasp onto with its settings and altering it to specific visual and audio needs
There is a constant red dot on the screen that is barely noticeable but when the screen goes black between commercials or game loading times its fairly noticeable

Cheap
I don't know how they check for defects. But this just didn't have any picture. Kind of annoyed, I think it was just repackaged and shipped out another door

I was in the market to replace the 23" Toshiba tv in our bedroom. Seems the market for 32" sets is extremely limited. I wanted a set that was 1080p 120hz refresh rate and it seems that these sets are difficult at best to purchase. After much searching...
Great TV
2 HDMI ports, wish it had 3. Audio like all HDTV's sold need an external audio system

I tested several TVs in my local Sears store and was surprised that this Sony sounded so much better than the others, and when I tried it at home it again exceeded my expectations. No sound bar is needed for this TV.
Sound quality is exceptional
