The foldable market is growing, this time with OnePlus joining the fray. How does the OnePlus Open fare? Let's find out.
Great compact and lightweight size Powerful cameras Beautiful screens Anti-glare inner display Opens flat easily 67W fast charging Intuitive multitasking
Hinge isn't firm enough Large camera bump Macro and 120x Super Res are not great
“The OnePlus Open is a great new foldable, and it costs less than you'd expect.”

OnePlus Open - the company's first foldable smartphone is here. The Open introduces one incredibly clean design, two superb Dolby Vision OLED screens and...
Outstanding design and build, IPX4 splash proof.
No HFR gaming.
Yes, we enjoyed this OnePlus, both Open and Closed. It is one of the best combinations of a smartphone, tablet, and cameraphone, and we highly recommend it, especially once its launch price has settled a bit.

The OnePlus Open is the first uncompromising book-style foldable in the West, and it's cheaper than a lot of the competition too.
Solid foldable hardware with minimal display crease ; Custom foldable camera tech ; Unique Open Canvas multitasking software ; True fast charging capabilities
IPX4 water resistance isn’t the best ; Still hefty at 245g
The OnePlus Open gets the book-style foldable formula right, boasting a no-compromise experience with excellent displays, great performance, custom foldable camera tech and fast charging, all at a price cheaper than most of the competition.

The OnePlus Open, the company's first foldable phone, has some tricks even established competitors can't beat
The slightest display crease of any foldable ; The most satisfying opening mechanism ; No-compromise approach to cameras ; Great power and battery life
Will you really use it unfolded enough to justify? ; That camera bump is bloomin' massive ; Some software irks
OnePlus' first foray into the foldables market is an undeniable major success. The Open doesn't compromise in any one department compared to its key competition, making for an experience that can't be rivalled right now. That said, with a folded...

This one goes right where the others all went wrong
Bigger displays inside and out ; Design looks and feels more ‘normal’ that other foldables ; Best cameras on any foldable phone
Not as feature-packed as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 ; The iPhone 15 Pro Max is lighter and more refined ; Whoa, that’s a big camera bump
The OnePlus Open is the only big foldable phone that doesn’t feel like a compromise. It looks and feels like a normal phone, and the camera is the best you'll find on any foldable. You can buy a foldable with a Galaxy more features, but the OnePlus...

The OnePlus Open is an attractive and well-made foldable smartphone with fluid performance, specialized multitasking software, and excellent screens inside and out.
Avis d'expert par : Allison Johnson 6 8 7 9 6 (theverge.com)
The OnePlus Open features a 6.3-inch outer display and a large 7.8-inch inner screen with robust multitasking features. It's the right shape, but it's missing some key features, including wireless charging.
I think the best thing the OnePlus Open can do is push Samsung and Google to more aggressive innovation on their phones. We don’t need to imagine what a foldable might look like if it occupied the middle ground between the Galaxy and Pixel foldable...

OnePlus is one of the last major companies to release a folding phone. Is the Open a hit, or does it suffer the same flaws as other book-style foldables?

Updated: the Open Apex Edition is a timely reminder that OnePlus nailed the foldable formula at the first time of asking
Outstanding build quality and near-perfect form factor ; Flagship-grade performance and battery life ; Apex edition looks slick and doubles storage – but still undercuts rivals ; Still the best take on foldable multitasking
Obviously pricier than any non-folding flagship ; Digital zoom a struggle in lower light ; No wireless charging and a compatible stylus is hard to find
The finest foldable around at launch, and still impressive today. The OnePlus Open costs less than major rivals yet bests them on styling and camera ability. It’s a few small steps from perfection.
Avis d'expert par : Tom Morgan-Freelander (stuff.tv)
I'm seeing red for this special edition OnePlus foldable. The OnePlus Open Apex Edition brings more storage and a unique VIP mode
