It looks like it has a jack for a second IR blaster. I didn't see much about it in the manual, but if you can control 2 cable boxes this item would be ace.
Cheap ; Simple ; Easy
1/4 of the time doesn't work after turning on the computer

More detail on how I figured it out:
Very good price for MCE remote--much cheaper than alternatives out there
VERY tricky to get this IR Receiver to work in Windows XP MCE 2005. I had to manually edit the c:\windows\inf\irbus.inf file to add the hardware ID of this IR receiver so Windows would install the driver (you can't manually pick it because the device...

Any help is appreciated--pleeease bert, if you see this let me know how you installed the drivers on XP. (I've even tried copying the Vista drivers from my laptop to the MCE05 machine, but MCE complained they were 'corrupted')
Nice looking remote
I wish Newegg had a "reply to this poster" or "contact this reviewer" feature because I bought this remote to use for a media center 2005 computer I built for my sister, but mce2005 doesn't have the drivers for the IR Receiver

Great price!
IR reciever is compatible with Time Warner HD set top box'es remote control. Vista's Windows Media Center works like a dream
none

It's plug and play. The IR Blaster was a bit strong so instead of putting it directly on the "eye" of the STB I put it about 2" to the left. It works great.
IR Blaster included which is required if you're using a satellite STB with MCE
The suction cup on the IR receiver doesn't stick well
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
I hate aiming remotes and I dislike remotes that control other devices they were not designed to control. Something to keep in mind. But assuming you don't have a 360 and you aren't lazy like myself and are willing to lift your arm to aim before...
The remote works however I declined to give it a 5 star due to a small range for the IR and one other detail you will see below in the Cons
My big grip with this remote is that the "windows media button" (the green one) powers on my Xbox360 which is sitting just above my computer. So, if you have your IR recv for this device anywhere close to your Xbox360, plan to have some undesirable...
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
I have only used this for a few days but am not really having any trouble with it. Some of the buttons on remote don't seem to do anything and I had to go to the homepage for product to get drivers.
I like that I can control my Media Center PC with a remote and not have to use keyboard and mouse. IR seems to work well for the remote
You have to have the sorta clunky IR receiver box where you can see it instead of just having a small IR bulb that connects to the receiver behind or inside of the computer. It's not too bad but if your going for a clean look for your setup this may...
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
I don't use Windows so I never got a chance to try this device.
IR blaster, suction cup for base, long USB cable
Does NOT work in Linux/MythTV. I thought it would work with the lirc_mceusb/2 drivers, but it's different hardware. The remote is light weight and seems cheaply made
Avis d'utilisateur (newegg.com)
My Microsoft remote broke after about a year. I've since read that it is typical for the buttons to give out like mine did. I hope this brand of remote lasts longer.
Inexpensive. Almost the same as the pricier Microsoft remote. More comfortable to hold. Includes four labeled media center buttons: "My TV", "My Music", "My Pictures", and My Videos
No lighted buttons. This isn't a learning remote. And unlike the Microsoft one, it can't even learn to turn your TV on or adjust the volume

a lot of people dont have vista
this remote works very well I have winxp mce 05 and it took a bit to get the drivers to install but once it it did it work great with my ati card I know its for vista but vista sucks
