Wacom Intuos5 PTH650

The Wacom Intuos5 drawing tablet is well-designed, still comes in multiple sizes, and offers a near-ideal balance of features and accuracy for the price.

Beautifully textured drawing surface. 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity. New, programmable capacitive buttons. Available in three sizes. Robust software bundle. Takes special advantage of Photoshop, Lightroom, and Maya.

Pen grip attracts dust and lint. Duo button is still too easy to press. Multitouch gesture accuracy trails that of a good laptop trackpad. Wireless kit is optional.

Wireless Kit and Conclusions Wacom also sent us a Wireless Accessory Kit ($39) to try out. Even if you buy one with the tablet, you still need to set the tablet up over USB first, because the battery isn't charged. Installing the battery underneath the...

Industry standard, but expensive

I upgraded from a smaller, generic tablet. This is a world of difference. The inclusion of touch functionality has changed the way I work- now, while working on a big photo retouching job in Photoshop, I never need to go back to the mouse. I can zoom,...

Excellent sensitivity, touch functionality makes a mouse functionally unnecessary, customizable hotkeys, unobtrusive software

Multi-touch gestures aren't all that sensitive, tablet itself is huge (but this may be for ergonomic reasons), wireless kit not included, expensive

Wacom PTH650

Using graphics tablets on Linux is worse. No surprises there.

Tablet is quite large despite being referred to as "Medium", having nearly the same diagonal as a standard 15.6" laptop. The device is quite easy to customize although the default settings are quite asinine. I do not understand how they expect anyone...

Despite Wacom touting their products as "Made for Windows 8", the support is laughable at best. To turn some features off, such as the ripple that occurs when left clicking with the pen, their forum reps suggest you perform a registry hack. The IME Pad...

Productivity increased x10

If you're a beginner when it comes to graphic tablets, you are better off using the lower end models like the Bamboo splash or even the create and capture. 1) you'll save a lot of money and 2) those models are the basics and the learning curve is not...

Coming from a bamboo, I feel I could do a ton more with this. I'm currently using a Samsung 29" inch 2560x1440 display and this fits the screen perfectly. Comes with a nice bunch of free software to use with this tablet and just using this with Adobe...

learning curve could be of a problem to some people but if you already have a lot of experience using a mouse to edit photos or render artwork, on photoshop or illustrator, for example, you'll quickly see how fast you can finish your work with these...

Great product spoiled by overdesign

The CD-ROM has files on it, but my installer insisted on downloading a new manual. Installation did not give me an option to create a shortcut for the essential Properties dialog box. This seems to be still a very Mac-oriented product. Leave off all...

Still works as well as the Wacom tablet of 10 years ago. There is no good substitute--unfortunately.

The sensitive area is less than 9 x 5.5, so why has the tablet grown to 15 x 10? How am I supposed to put this monster on my desk? I have to rest the thing on my knees. The old original Wacom was a neat, trim accessory. Function buttons are all black,...

NEAT!

I was looking for an upgrade from my old Wacom Bamboo tablet and I've boiled down to Medium VS Large. I feel like going for Large because someone recommended size corresponding to screen: Medium for 23" or less and Large for over 23" and I have 27"....

-Fully customizable button assignments -Excellent multiscreen support: If configured tablet to use on one screen you can switch to next screen with "display toggle" button, it's pre-configured on one of tablet's buttons. By default, the tablet's active...

-Wireless kits sold separately -The area outside white frame angles is not functional Bundled TRIAL/FREEwares: -Corel® Painter™ 12 (90-day trial) -Autodesk® SketchBook® Express (free)

Great for Drawing

Wacom seems to dominate the market for these type of devices. Price is a bit high, but worthwhile as an artists tool. Bought this particular model due to slightly larger size, but still small enough to fit in a laptop case.

Bought this for my son who is in Art school. He's been very happy with it. My son is using this both with his MacBook Pro laptop and Desktop PC.

None.

Love it

I bought this with the wireless accessory kit, so I can't speak for it without that, but with it, it's terrific. Very responsive, very comfortable and (for me) it holds a charge all day - certainly longer than I need it to. I been using this with Z...

nice sensitivity, comfortable, large, stable software, highly customizable... works well overall

I can't think of any cons...

Not a professional product

I've seen many reviews stating the usb plug fails. This would be a great product, but for two terrible flaws. It breaks, and there is no external battery charger.

It works nicely with WinXp...with I5 quadcore and 1600mhz ram. Works with older applications in touch mode. Customizable settings.

The USB connector is week and seems likely to fail at some point. The battery life for the battery for wireless connection is limited. I work up to 16 hours per day when it's crunch time. I cannot find extra batteries, except to buy the wireless...

It's very good

I purchased mine with Price Matching at BBY as AMZN had it marked down prior to Thanksgiving for $188. Yes! Brand New never been open box so I was very lucky to find it discounted on Am-a-Zon brought my Printout got Price Match, now the lowest I can...

Nice tablet overall and very good quality. Get the Wireless/USB kit. The only thing better is the Cintiq 12WX ($999 or less) or much more expensive Cintiq 22/ 24 HD inch.

Nibs wear, pressure sensitivity could be better. Downloading Bundle Software is okay. Could be updated to current products/ programs being sold. They are watered down types, need to purchase regular mfgr program for getting best features.
