The newer version that replaced this one just doesn't match its resilience and comfort.

I really miss using this mouse. I've purchased at least three of them over the span of 8 years. These mice can take a beating and last incredibility long. Simple and no frills mouse with a comfortable design.

Worked for 15+ years longer than anything else electronic I've owned besides my full steel IBM keyboard

Microsoft disconinued it because no one who has bought this has ever bought another mouse

Best standard mouse IMO

 

Microsoft apparently decided to discontinue these but maybe we as consumers can apply enough pressure to get them back into production.

I've been using these mice for years. Simple, durable and they just plain work without the extra "value added" stuff

Nice but does not last

 

Despite them not lasting long, I have been using the cheap Microsoft optical mice for over a decade. As I said, they are great while they last. And since they are cheap, it does not matter they need to be replaced fairly often.

These mice are great while they last. They are cheap.

They only last about a year. My most recent one only lasted 10 months.

Not working well after a year

 

I did throw it in my backpack a lot so maybe it's my fault, but I had a previous version of this mouse that lasted 6 years before the buttons gave out, and I bought it from biglots

- it works like a mouse should - it worked fine for a year

- right mouse button became flaky after a year, rendering it useless to me

Good Mouse, Good Price

 

The red light at the front of the mouse stays light even when my computer is off. I guess the PS2 port still has power to it so the light stays lit. It's not super bright and not a problem for me but it might bother some people.

It's an optical wheel mouse USB & PS/2 Compatible Comes with USB-PS/2 adapter so I can use my PS/2 port Microsoft Quality It works

Just works, please don't discontinue

 

NewEgg is out of stock as I write this and trying to get more. Please, *please* do not stop carrying this product. Microsoft, *please* do not discontinue it. It is the perfect mouse for simply getting work done.

This mouse is fantastic. We've been using it for years on dozens of computers and it never fails. It's the perfect size to just grab and go; not too big or small. Just easy to grab.

My favorite mouse.

 

I've been using this exact model of mouse as long as it has been around and I would never use anything different. It is comfortable, reliable and it is just as fancy as I want.

I wish it was cheaper. I would buy enough to last the rest of my life, if only it was cheaper.
