SkyBell Wi-Fi Video Doorbell

With the SkyBell Wi-Fi Video Doorbell you can see and talk to whoever is at the door, but it doesn't record video and its low-res camera has color and detail issues.

Easy to install. On-demand video. Motion detection. Two-way audio

Expensive. Subpar picture quality. Does not record video or audio. Must use existing doorbell wiring

The Wi-Fi Video Doorbell ($199) from SkyBell is the latest smart doorbell to hit the digital home market. Much like the Ring Video Doorbell, it sends a live video feed to your smartphone when somebody presses the button, and allows you to initiate a...

Review: Answer the front door from the couch with SkyBell 2.0

SkyBell 2.0's near-immediate push alerts and steady video feed give this smart chime a degree of appeal.

SkyBell version 2.0 has responsive push alerts and a solid video feed that won't leave you wondering who's at your front door.

You can't record or save footage, and the two-way-talk feature is spotty at best. It has to be hard-wired, and it won't work with intercom systems.

While SkyBell is a bit persnickety at times, it comes closer to delivering on its claims than the competition.

Review: Answer the front door from the couch with SkyBell 2.0

The $200 SkyBell smart video camera-equipped doorbell is different than BOT Home Automation's now-defunct Doorbot and newer Ring buzzer. Where Ring boasts a 720p video resolution, the option between a battery or wired installation and an activity log...

It would be great if it worked consistently

We owned a Ring and it seems there are similar problematic issues. When someone rings the doorbell, the app alerts me, but I am unable to see or hear the audio/video. Very frustrating. Sometimes it woks, but often it doesn't. We have a blazing fast...

No monthly fees, live view

unreliable and frustrating

Simply Awful

I've had 2 fail within 3 months. The company will not exchange them instead they offer a coupon to spend yet even more money on another unit, that in my experience will fail within 3 months. BUYER BEWARE, or better yet DO NOT BUY

Still looking for any pros

Everything, the customer service, the product you name it

I love this product!

I spend a lot of time in the back yard where I can't hear the doorbell. It's nice to not have to give special instructions to people to walk around to the back yard if I don't answer the door.

Able to answer the door from the back yard or garage

Not sure yet

Absolutely recommended

I can only guess that the negative reviews are based on older firmware versions because I havent had any issues with my skybell (installed 3/2015).

Easy installation, Works as Advertised

A couple firmware updates away from perfection!

I've had a good week or so now after installing this doorbell to get an idea of what I like and don't like. It's pretty awesome overall, and have had no major issues with it so far, although I have had some minor nitpicks that they can hopefully...

No monthly/annual fee, good field of view, easy install, excellent value, 2-way communication to your door

Motion sensor issue, can't save video, can't exit app, times out
