Would not recommend the purchase of the Scanjet 8270. My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

HP name, 8.5x14" Flatbed scan surface

When I first brought this scanner I had a problem getting it initialize at first as well but with the newest set of HP drivers and software it works perfectly. I did not experence any issues with the length of the USB cable. Mine is on a 16ft cable...

Built like a tank. Autofeeder will draw just about everything accurately. Duplex Scanning works great execpt in certain situations. (See Below) Huge legal sized flatbed with really high resolution. Quick scan buttons easy to setup and works great with...

The duplex reversing system jams if you try to duplex scan anything that has been tri-folded. Although this is a little of a hastle, it is easy to just scan each set of sides separtely in the same job and reassemble in ParerPort or the free HP scanning...

Very disappointed. When using top feeder sheets constantly jam. The HP Director is very slow to repond and sometimes do not open awith all the control icons/links.

Junk

 

We have had this scanner for almost a year and have had nothing but problems. It jams easily, is slow, changes settings, has streaks, etc. etc. etc. Would not recommend it to anyone.
