Sony VGN-UX17GP

The Sony VGN-UX17GP is the smallest Windows XP device on the market. Its design and versatility make it a boon for mobile professionals and portable entertainment junkies alike.

It's a nice very compact machine, but i prefer OQO 2+ with 3G 2G ram and also the Wibrain i1 with 3G & 3G+ also GPS onboard!!

Very small and lightweight

low in RAM. No 3G. No GPS. very poor battery time

I bought the Sony Vaio UX380N pc, the USA version, and I love it. Great graphics, very fast, sleek design. Several times while using this little gem in public, conversations struck between a very pretty female and myself; she began to ask me questions...

Design, Graphics, Speed, Accessories, Connectivity, Date getter, conversation starter, Everything else that I have not mentioned here except for the battery life

I have not used the product. But even though PCMCIA slot not there, the USB slot could be used for a USB data card - thereby enabling internet access where WLAN not available.

This device is a successul exercise in in technology innovation. Snob-value for those who have money to burn

Not practical. You would still have to have your mobile phone/PDA along. Keyboard is too tiny. Due to its odd size it is uncomfortable to use when placed on the lap. It is also not comforable for thumb-typing as a normal PDA with a keyboard would be

"Missed opportunity"

I know CF versions of these cards are planned but they are not available soon. If it just had the PCMCIA slot it would flexible enough to perform numerous functions. Without a PCMCIA slot its just an expensive PDA or media player.

Very compact ; Very light ; A Real PC

No PCMCIA slot which means no 3G/Iburst/Unwired mobile internet ; And Why??? use pro and not tablet edition. Tablet edition works just fine in a windows domain environment

Great step forward. The bar has now been set!

Portability and compactness. Well thought design and completness of package for mobile professionals. The full version Windows OS and laptop comprable CPU and storage make it a definite consideration when thinking about purchasing a mobile computer.

If Sony included a cell phone module or if a CF slot cell phone module could be purchased as an add on from Sony this would be the true first step towards convergence. Say goodbye to all the in between gadgets one buys to get closer to the convergence...

512 fixed RAM ; no included optical drive (can be bought seperately) ; lack of internal cell phone
