Only if it was $300

This could actually be a competitor in the netbook sphere if sony was willing to call it a netbook. They didn't and tried to "create a new classification" with this P series. They decided it would be easier to make it cost as much as a regular laptop,...

I received a review unit from sony, for free

It really is ruined by four things ; Sony's need to make a %200 profit margin ; Sony's addition of all the software ; Windows Vista ; poor design

It's Great for on the Go and Attracting Attention

I did not buy the Vaio P at Newegg, but rather S*nyStyl*, since they're the only retailer to have the 128GB Solid State version ...which I really need the space for work. If you can, get one of the SSD versions for a little bit more speed (not a huge...

Sony's new little Vaio (to stay away from the word netbook) is amazing in so many ways. For one, it only weighs a little more than a pound, the LCD quality is amazing, keyboard size makes it easy to type, built in wireless-N really, built in bluetooth...

For those of you that like looking at the negative side of things, it's VERY important that you remember, this IS a netbook, and you should not expect it to behave like a regular laptop. If this will be your first laptop purchase, or your buying it as...

almost a perfect netbook

Here is what you might need to do before actually using it: Uninstall the Vista and switch to XP or Win7. Delete all the sony software except for the wireless control program. Empty its startup menu. Buy the SSD version, it improves the whole...

Beautiful, light, cool ; Absolutely silent, no noise ; Astonishing LCD screen. The texts are small but amazingly clear ; Comfortable pointing stick and keyboard ; Support 1920*1280 VGA output ; GPS does work! Don't listen to those who complained ;...

battery life is short, like 2.5 hours ; too many useless sony softwares installed ; instant mode is not instant at all, and not very useful

YES it's a great device!

I'm a bit of an aficionado of mobile devices. I presently have four laptops, and this little guy marks the fourth netbook (oopse! Did I say netbook?) in our household. I have read many reviews that complain about this machine being slow; some say that...

The display resolution is spectacular, in only 8" diagonal. Colors are bright and vivid, contrast is high, and obviously the screen real estate for programming or graphic design is a tech geek's wet dream incarnate

The display resolution is spectacular, in only 8" diagonal. Fonts are diminutive. No... take your best mental image of "diminutive", then cut it in half. They're itsy-bitsy. Marginally larger than a book inscribed on the head of a pin. If you intend to...

Im sad :(

Ok, people here it is and this is my second review just to share the wealth. Im a Sony fan and had high hopes though knowing that this could go bad. It salvageable depending on your intentions with this machine. Vista is obviously not the right choice...

Wow, Amazingly... Disappointing!

For a $900 netbook, one should expect at least decent performance, the performance of this unit is so bad, i cant even call it poor, it would be an insult to the word, poor performing netbooks all throughout the universe would take offense. The number...

Very feature packed little device, it has everything one could ever want in a netbook

despite having a complete feature set, this device is ungodly slow, to the point that its intolerable, Sony made a bad decision to put Windows Vista on this machine. this netbook would have been served much better by Windows XP ; On first boot up, it...

Awesome!

Someone please show SuperSteve how change DPI settings, and please get rid of Vista! Windows XP runs great on it after a few performance tweaks. Haven't tried Windows 7 yet. Also, I'm going to swap the hard drive for SSD. Trying to decide right now...

Light, small, cool, and the best LCD panel quality ever in a laptop
