A very good laptop bought for photographic work. It comes up to all expectations. I do not use the numeric pad - that is not a criticism.

for me the best point is that it does what it sat's on the box. It suits my needs perfectly.

Having to purchase Office Home and Student 2007 separately was not expected. Unable to transfer my old 'Outlook' e-mails/folders was a bit of a pain.

The product is good value for money. Looks good and feels good, the unit starts up quick.

Don't download the Hewlett Packard updates! It removed the wireless adapter!

compared to my previous laptop this is a joy to use due to the speed,bright screen and quality finish .i am also very impressed with the hp support assistant.

volume level on speakers is very low even on full volume.

Excellent screen size, for replacing an old desktop. Good speed. Window 7 is excellent when you get used to it. I graduated straight from XP, missed the Vista stage. Excellent web cam and sound combination.

A lot of unnecessary software included (eg nagging HP big brother wanaby, childish desk top). Not enough good useful ones. (eg DVD/CD, Pictures, Videos) Large screen size, feels fragile, not really suitable to be moved around too much. Short battery...

The VGA Plugin doesn't require restart to work. This a very good all round laptop for all uses.

The screen resolution doesn't keep up with changeover from laptop to VGA setup, making the whole screen smaller and more difficult to work with. The motor does whrrrrr very loud during startup, which can be annoying.

Good keyboard layout with sensible features such as one button sense pad operation, & slider control on sense pad. Large clear screen. Windows 7 a lot lot better than predecessors at time to start up.

Not enough USB sockets Ethernet cable socket on side instead of rear. Moving to Windows 7 from XP not easy. Windows 7 uses different folder names to store files so data files have to be moved individually from a porevious machine to the new one. e.g....

Windows 7 is very slow at start up and regularly starts doing tasks on its own which slow the machine down greatly! I expected hugely better performance than it gives! Disapointed with it to be honest!
