Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 tablet-convertible notebook

One of the best notebooks on the market for handwriting recognition

Excellent touch screen and handwriting recognition, fast, solid build quality, can use fingers or a pen to navigate

No ExpressCard/54 slot, not all USB ports are powered

If you're on the lookout for a notebook that can be used as a tablet, then the Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 is about as good as it gets. It's fast, very well built and has one of the most responsive and accurate touch screens we've tested. The only downsides...

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010

Hot stuff, but in a bad way.

Latest connectivity options, Wacom active digitiser, good battery life

Price, overheats

The Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 is a relatively powerful notebook with the latest connectivity options and an above-average battery life. Unfortunately the unit's overheating detracts from what should be a strong performer.

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010

The Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 convertible laptop is built for business. Running on the Centrino 2 vPro chipset and packed to the gills with IT-friendly security features, it's designed to be an efficient portable workstation for the mobile professional.

Solid construction ; Good multitouch tablet

Lackluster speakers ; It gets a little too warm

The T5010 multitouch tablet-PC hybrid provides security, strength, and efficiency in a ho-hum package.

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 (Multitouch)

The Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 (Multitouch) tablet PC let's you use a keyboard, a digitized pen, or a finger (or two) for data input.

Capacitive touch panel. Support Multi-touch. Digitized pen is an excellent tool. Soft keyboard. Powerful and energy-efficient processor. Optical drive can be swapped out for an additional battery or hard drive. Mobile Broadband available. Tons of...

Clunky design. Tablets are still pricey instruments. Battery life is below average on a single battery. 80GB hard drive is more meager than those found in netbooks.

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010

The Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 upholds the company's legacy for bundling fast parts and an optical drive.

Intel Centrino 2 platform. Moves to a larger widescreen, while keeping the weight where it is. DDR3 RAM. Excellent writing experience. Built-in optical drive.

A single battery won't do. 80GB hard drive seems small these days.

Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 Review

It converts to tablet mode easily and only weighs in around 4.5lbs. It has that simplistic feel to it. Great for taking notes and browsing the Web, very functional. It has a good variety of features, but the price may need to drop a little more to...

Vivid, bright colored active digitizer display ; Solid design, functional and simple ; Bi-directional hinge ; Modular bay swappable battery option

Left side of keyboard and palm rest get hot ; Pen can get stuck in silo

It does have the Wacom active digitizer unlike the T1010, which is passive. For being the successor to the LifeBook T4220 though I don't like the pen location. It gets stuck in the silo sometimes. The design is similar though, except for the black lid,...
