The Averatec AV2260 ultraportable is the right weight at the right price, but in today's tough market, we want more.

Very inexpensive. Built-in DVD burner.

Not enough battery life. Cramped keyboard.

Great portability and reputation

 

This is my third Averatec laptop and they have all be very good for me. The weight, at about 4 pounds, is fine for the continuous toting around that I do. It seems to run with no problem, unlike the last two versions which had teeny problems like the ...

Screen visible from wide angles, great for commuter seats. Withstands serious bumps and drops.

No Linux driver for the 1280x800 screen. Hard to find them in a store.
