The Acer Spin 3's price and large screen are tempting, but in a very crowded field of convertible 2-in-1s it lacks some key features.

Low price. Full HD touch screen. 1TB storage.

Awkward in Tablet mode. No USB-C. Lacks SSD.

Acer Spin 3 SP315-51 laptop review: Disappointing performance makes this a tough sell

 

For a laptop experience to qualify as tolerable, it must offer a good display and adequate performance for the tasks at hand.

The Acer Spin 3 falls short on two very important areas, display and performance. Both are an easy fix and it’s a wonder that Acer is even offering the device in this configuration. Offering only 4 GB of RAM in any laptop that isn’t the most barebones...

didnt realise the hard drive was so small was edxpexting at least a terrabite not 120 gigabite andf no disc drive

Powers up quickly. Good size screen. Performance seems good

The touchpad mouse is not good at all. I'm going to buy a plug in mouse for it.

Rubbish Broke within 4 weeks after Approx 3 times using!!! Wouldn't let me return! Have to have repaired not happy at all

I brought this a couple of months ago and I am besotted with it. So eay to set up and use. Love the ability to fold back the keyboard and use the touchscreen facility. Brilliant!!!!

Decent machine for everyday use. Great value over competitors

On/off switch is really small and takes technique before it responds. Might be just me being impatient...

Only a week old but good size screen for the sight impaired. Three mode operation makes it a very versatile laptop, screen stand and tablet. For the required application it is very good but not everyone would want such a large item.

It would be cumbersome for the normal unimpaired user. Converting from laptop to tablet there is a tendency to tap the buttons on the side and change the operational mode unintentionally. A pity it doesn't use the latest cpu but its adequate.
