Acer AS 1810 Recon

Product kept crashing!!

Battery life is 6-8 hours. Will happily run Ubuntu Linux. It's compact and very light, while packing a decent punch in the cpu department - in all a very neat and usable netbook.

Would have been useful to have windows 7 starter disc instead of the acer backup software (you have to make your own discs.) Keyboard is a tiny bit flimsy, but still perfectly useable.

I bought a refurb model saving a ton and it is fantastic the best tech purchase I've made in years The only downside was a dodgy V Key which it looked like the refurb guys had tried to bodge but ebay to the rescue I bought a replacement from pennies...

my only criticism is I cant find a way to adjust the sensitivity of the mulittouch pad and with the pad having no obvious scroll line it can be a bit annoying

Best machine for the money - only reason for not giving 10 is that perfection does not exist (exccept, of course, the wife!)
