Avis d'expert par : Jim Fisher (pcmag.com)

Samyang 135mm F2.0 ED UMC

The Samyang 135mm F2.0 ED UMC lens offers faultless optics and an excellent manual focus experience.

Extremely sharp from edge to edge. No distortion. Wide aperture.

Some fall-off at f/2. Omits autofocus and image stabilization.

Image Quality and Conclusions I used Imatest to check the sharpness of the lens when paired with the full-frame Nikon D810 . At its widest aperture the lens puts up incredible numbers. It scores 3,620 lines per picture height on a center-weighted...

Samyang 135 mm f/2.0 ED UMC

In 2009 the world heard about the Korean Samyang company for the first time. At first they were producing just simple T2 zoom lenses and mirror constructions but soon they launched a fully-fledged 1.4/85 lens and then more than a dozen new optical...

sensational resolution in the frame centre ; excellent image quality on the edge of APS-C/DX ; very good image quality on the edge of full frame ; imperceptible longitudinal chromatic aberration ; negligible lateral chromatic aberration ; no problems...

too high vignetting on full frame

Samyang 135mm f/2 ED UMC Lens Review

Gary Wolstenholme puts the Samyang 135mm f/2 ED UMC manual focus telephoto lens to the test.

Excellent sharpness from maximum aperture ; Smooth manual focus action ; Good build ; Low CA ; Low distortion

Lack of autofocus may be enough to put many off this lens ; Loss of contrast when shooting into the light

Those interested in a fast 135mm, who are either on a budget or don’t need autofocus for their work, should certainly consider this lens. It’s more than capable of delivering sharpness on a par with high-end lenses, but at a fraction of the cost. This,...

Samyang 135 mm f/2.0 ED UMC

Best optics in any tele lens I have ever seen. Number one in my collection.

I use it for astrophotography, and point light sources on black ground are a nightmare for all optics. This lens is totally sharp and colour free to the FF edge wide open at f/2. Unbelievable!See: http://www.astrobin.com/228813

No autofocus, no stabilization

Samyang 135 mm f/2.0 ED UMC

On m4/3 hybrids, the utilization differs from the initial goal : it's more of a telezoom than a portrait lens, but the sharpness in the distance is still beautiful. To shoot a really far subject, the hyperfocal helps a lot, because focusing is tough...
