HP L1706

In the L1706, HP offers an affordable flat panel with satisfactory image quality, but the display lacks any extra adjustability and inputs. The L1706 will serve office workers well, but other more-adjustable and better-performing monitors are available...

Fine colour quality ; Easy to operate ; Good image adjustability

No side-to-side swivel ; No height adjustment ; Inferior text rendering and viewing angle

HP's L1706 17" LCD Monitor is Very Average

This monitor is mainly intended for business use, and I think for a little more money you could get something a lot better.

"Pretty good monitor.."

Cheaper than a lot of other LCD monitors and well worth it.

First LCD monitor that I've had, seems to be great.. wish I got it in 19

Can't adjust the height, but its not really a problem for me. I don't have much cons with it. Images look great

Good Monitor

I have had it for a while and have recently upgraded. It's a good monitor, but nothing super fantastic or mind blowing. Works just fine. :) If you just need a monitor, and you want a good brand and avoid shoddy worksmanship, this Monitor is worth the...

This is a very good monitor. 1280x1024 resolution, comes with good cables. No backlight leaking or dead pixels either. Very pleased with it

No DVI. Kind of Pricey

The gritty details

Anybody who thinks this is a good monitor is NOT looking very close. Please note I am very picky and very sensitive to screen quality.

Honestly can't think of any

The dot pitch on this monitor is horrible, you can easily see the black lines (spaces) between the pixels. The price of this monitor is as much as a quality 19", or pay a little bit more and get a good 20

Text Not Very Sharp

Shortly after we got these monitors at work, I bought a 20" Viewsonic LCD which cost only $40 more than this HP 17". Apart from the obvious size difference, the viewsonic picture/color/sharpness is FAR superior.

Nice looking LCD, never had any problems with it other than the somewhat blurry text

Need to mess around with the settings quite a bit to get sharp text, even then it's not all that sharp
