Really does make standard DVD's look great. Not BlueRay but darn nice. Pretty simple setup compared to some DVDs that I have had in the past.

NO TOSLINK! Fortunately I can use the coaxial digital audio but really wanted to use the optical.

Inexpensive. Loads DVDs quickly and they look almost real HD.

Luckily I can use the remote from my Toshiba Regza HDTV as the remote it came with is ugly, but functional.

Multi format reading ability

Output settings do not conveniently reset or automatically configure to device which they are connected to. This is the reason for 4 eggs. See below

Plays most disks that average home video user would ever need. I got it so I could play videos recorded on DVD DL with mulitple formats. This player does do that. But that is the only good point.

Junk. 1080i and HDMI are probably the only selling points for this brick. You have to be directly in front of the machine for the remote to even work and I've tried new batts and machine location nothing helped. No resume, noisy, slow response time...

Down time having to wait for new one to come in. Please stay away from toshiba and Panasonic dvd players. I order a lot of stuff from new egg. I own my own computer repair and electronics buisness. When something does not work the first time I am out...

this is a great upconverter for the price, depending on the resolution/file size of the sd dvd you are viewing it can create a great picture on large tv (47inch).

Its no blu-ray but its def. a great substitute until blu-ray drops in price
