Good for the money

Got it for a 49.99 on a shell shocker deal. Worth that as I use it to stream video's from my PC. The integrated wireless networking works well for what I am using it for and streams movies just fine. Found a site that has additional homebrew software...

Wireless networking. Plays most available formats. Very easy remote. Nice menus and additional features

Slow processor. Needs additional third party software to use additional media servers other than the Kodak software. No Netflix support

Entry Level - Shell shocker $49

Great entry level for first time home network. All of this is keeps changing so fast, I can live with this for awhile as I figure out my next set top or full media system build.

Yes it is plug and play. Found the network (via ethernet cable), streams films and music as promised. Nice way to ease into the Home multi media and Internet access for little

Movies will time out and reset from the start when paused to long. you may want to plan those runs to the kitchen ; USB drives show no titles one icons of each separate item. Which means if you load thirty five movies you get little icon chips to...

Not a WD HD replacement~

In hindsight, it wasn't bad for the money but not what I was looking for.

Cost, I bought this when it was $49 on sale and wanted to hook up a hard drive full of movies and send to my Mom... remote is great. Software.... uhhh, not so much

You have to set up the movies on another computer and network to it. You can hook up a drive correct but it wont show the movie name or any idea until it's opened and the interface is sloowwww

Beautiful..

I have mine connected via HDMI to my 37" VIZIO 1080p LCD TV and I couldn't be happier with the results. This thing is almost perfect for what it is, it allows you to stream all your music, pictures, and movies from your home server. And "NO" I have had...

High quality 1080p output, tweaked linux firmware OS means happy hacking in the future. There are already some sites out there with info on the how to's. And some possibility from rumors that people were able to tweak and boot a linux distro off of a...

No A/V (composite) ie.. yellow red white connection.. Only the red white (audio) composite connection output is available which could be trouble if trying to run this on a older TV without HDMI or Component inputs

Interesting but forget support in the future

For the price, it's a grest unit to watch Youtube and look at your digital photo from cards or from your computer. If you plan on using it to see your videos... I would look at some else.

Low cost. Great pointer device. Access to internet music station and Youtube. Great to look at digital photo

Not easy to have access to movies cause needs most of the time video convertion. Never turns off unless you unplug it from the wall. Wireless set-up has a bit difficult

Great product

Other reviewers found a way to use a wireless signal from a PC to the unit and play the movie without pauses for buffering, but at a great expense. The simple and easy way is to just put the movie file on a jump drive or an external drive, and plug...

Watch movies that are loaded on an external drive or jump drive. Simple and easy to use -- Good value for the price

We found that a movie could not be streamed to the unit using a wireless connection. While the movie did play, the unit had to stop and buffer often. (Other reviewers found a way to do this, but that cost more $$)

Revolutionary??

Seriously Kodak.. Revolutionary? Really? This is in no way, shape, or form a revolutionary product. It's an older less capable version of what's currently available from other manufacturers. Newegg sells better media players for a similar price, with...

A nice interface - my mom could use this, if it worked with her mac, or played the MKV files she'd want to.. but it doesn't.. so.. she says it looks nice, but she can't use it ; It's nice looking, that's a pro right

Abysmal software, requires Windows, can't play from a SMB/windows file share, can't play the formats my movies are in (MKV and AVCHD for home vids), etc, etc. I'm very disappointed, it was a complete waste of money

Useful device

I use this Player as my main connection between my home network and my home theater system. I use it to stream all my media files: photos, music, and video, including HD video. My network is 100Mb/s wired ethernet. HD video files from my Sanyo...

Easy set-up, nice interface although not quite as nice as iPhone or iPod touch, handles wide variety of file formats (much better than Sony in this respect), iTunes sync works well, interface works well even if you have a large number of media files....

Radiotime station list is limited compared to Radiotime on PC or iPod touch app. I haven't been able to get the podcasts to show up in the podcast menu, although they play as music files. The lack of downloadable apps is what keeps me from giving this...

Does not play .mkv!

The big thing that would stop me from recommending this to someone would be lack of .mkv support. Yes, you could convert your files - but that's way more work than it's worth. I bought this to allow my wife to watch her episodes on the TV upstairs,...

Small ; Wireless ; Sweet Gyro Mouse ; Way cheaper than a dummy terminal (woot.com for $50)

NO .mkv SUPPORT ; wireless signal is not great ; software must be -running- on source PC ; seems like there'll be no firmware upgrades, IMHO
