The laser will misalign and will not play DVD-V every 1 to 4 months

Does NOT play DVD-R and DVD-RW that cheaper players do.

Does its job OK, but incredibly slow, won't play some CD's

 

It works, plays DVD's and CD's. BUT, it is INCREDIBLY slow in all that it does. The time from turn on to ready to open the carousel is frustrating, like waiting for a Windows PC to boot up. (Probably about 30seconds). Once up and running its slowness ...
