This is an excellent recorder. It puts out stunning color. It is my first DVDR; I almost bought a competing unit for $50 less but noticed that it did not record a full picture in wide screen; plus, some reviewers reported so much trouble with its...

It takes a minute or two for the unit to come up ready to record. It has a fast wake-up mode that I turned off because others reported problems with it. Have a little patience and you will be rewarded.
