My family went in together to get this telescope for my father for his birthday. I was given a budget and put in charge of finding a good telescope. After a crash course in telescopes (I didn't know much about them at the time), and researching...

Good optics, solid stand, and a good go to program

no grips yet other than it would be nice if it came with another eyepiece

A Great Telescope but be ready to "fix" it out of the box

 

I purchased this Meade LXD75 SN-8AT/UHTC (NEW) from Telescopes.com and it arrived in 3 days. Kudos on the quick shipping! I bought this telescope to give me better views of my light-polluted (Houston) sky than my existing 1-month-old Meade DS-2130AT...

Excellent Optics! Sturdy mount and drive unit

LOA/FR (Lots of assembly/Fixing required) out of the box
