You may not have to run wires to the rear amp, but you do have to run wires from the amp to the speakers. Works pretty good though

DVD upscales great. Just watched "The Fifth Element" and looked and sounds great - can not see how Blu Ray would be much better

Low-tech LED display, small diameter speaker wires, volume may not be sufficient for very large rooms (my room is 18' wide x 25' long and this system is just right), limited inputs for other devices (i.e. blue ray player, game system, etc.)
