They will be great at first. After a week your write times will slow to a crawl

Outstanding Drive

 

Obviously the cost is a big issue but if you have the money it is a good investment if speed is a concern. With SATA 3.0Gb/s, I'd wait until the price came down a little more before getting these drives.

Extremely fast drive. I put all of my frequently used applications on this drive (Firefox, Microsoft Office, etc). I used to have this drive as the operating system drive, but now it is a partition that is mounted with the file system (Program Files)....

I first put the operating system (Windows 7 Professional) on this drive, but the bootloader couldn't see this drive after it booted. Most likely a BIOS problem or Windows bootloader problem. I worked around it by making a boot drive (non-solid state)...

It's really that fast

 

SSDs will be the storage medium of the 2010s. We'll be using these drives 'til 3d optical storage comes out.

This is a beast of a drive! Windows 7 only took 10 minutes to install, and it takes 2-3 seconds to get from the welcome screen to desktop. Have yet to experience any lag

Intel's X25-M G2 is still a bit faster, but it's hardly noticable
