OCZ rebate pre-paid Visa card came in used with $1.01 remaining on it; the rest was pre-sent at Kim's Beauty Supply in Union City, GA. There are mass complaints with same rebate story, and the same fraud store. Beware!

firmware issues

 

Why are the units that NewEgg sells with firmware that is more than 2 years old! I assume they get the devices from OCZ, maybe they never update the firmware at the factory.

price is great for size of drive

Fantastic!

 

I set it to run in "Native IDE" mode (motherboard doesn't support AHCI unfortunately); the machine it went into was: BIOSTAR A770 A2+ Phenom X4 9350e 4 GB DDR2-800 (G-Skill) @ 5-5-5-15

Got one of these as the primary drive for a rebuilt gift computer. Windows 7 boots in about 25 seconds after post, and most programs installed on it (Firefox, IE8, MS Word/Excel/Outlook 2003) start in literally less than a second

I wish it hadn't put such a big hole in my month's budget

It's quieter and faster than a standard HDD

Mine died for no reason, awaiting RMA, but I thought I'd write a review so that people know what MIGHT happen ; I did not benchmark it like I did my Vertex 2, but it was definitely more responsive than a HDD

Amazing

 

So I reload my OS frequently, and have the original release of Win7. I installed that on this drive, and performed ALL Windows and Driver Updates, then rebooted. It literally booted while installing updates as fast as my previous drive did normally....

Easy to install, when combined with the ICY Dock converter ; Low Power ; Quiet ; FAST

SSDs are still "new" so price is an issue, though this is more attractive by price-performance-size than the competition

Works great, fast.

 

Would like it to be a little faster and cheaper but who wouldn't. Fast shipping from newegg.

Low power and fast. Runs very cool compared to a 7200 rpm laptop HD. Easy installation and setup. Was worried about speed with small files but it even with them it seems faster than an HD. My second SSD from OCZ and I'm happy with both
