Dane-Elec

This drive is excellent. The included flash drive with the software to clone the partition worked well. Read rates are about 250MB/S. I just cloned my win 7 ultimate from hdd to this ssd and everything works great. I have an all in one system, and it...

Flash drive with cloning software included ; USB enclosure is nice

no 2.5" to 3.5" adapter

WOW

If you aren't doing heaps of writes to any SSD, TRIM really won't net you any performance gain. Educate yourself and you'll discover (as I have) that TRIM is mostly hype for the average user.

Amazing speed - no more waiting for anything. Loading screens slip by and the computer is instantly responsive once the desktop (speedily) shows up

It's a G1 as others here have said. I knew this going in. I made my decision because of the fire-sale price when I bought it and from a review from ANA*DTECH that compared the G1 and G2 in new and used states. The G2 does very slightly outperform the...

Hit or miss

I am going to try a different modern drive and see if it works with my mid-2009 MBP. We'll see.

If it works, great. My wife's 2008 Macbook Pro works great with this drive. The performance is great compared to the factory standard hard drive

Did not work in my mid-2009 Macbook Pro with VMWare. Had I guess what they call the stuttering problem, with frequent hangs, especially when I tried to use VMWare. My exact same setup works fine with the Intel G2 80GB

No TRIM, but not a problem

Could have given 4 stars because it's a bit slower than a G2, but I knew that going in. Tested on XP, partition not aligned (Diskpar.exe won't run on any of my machines.) CrystalDiskMark, "fresh".. 268.4/78.8 209.4/74.3 19.8/55.5 144.8/76.2 ...

Almost as fast as a G2. Cost. Lack of TRIM support is not an issue

If you know it's a G1 and you won't be disappointed that it's not a G2, then none

Great Drive!!

Has cloning software for Mac (SuperDuper!) and Windows (Acronis) on a USB thumb drive. Installed in a 13" MacBook Pro and it is a great upgrade over the stock drive. I don't worry about the lack of T.R.I.M. support as I really don't realize it's need...

Fast drive. Includes everything to you need to replace your drive. Made by Intel

A solid drive

Read some of the online reviews for this model ("Intel X25-M G1") and decide for yourself whether features like TRIM are worth it. TRIM periodically zeroes out the unused sectors, making it slightly faster to write to the drive next time. (The...

It's a kit. It has everything you need to clone the old drive onto the new drive ; It comes with an external 2.5" enclosure. You use it to house the old drive during the cloning process, and then afterwards it's a great way to keep using the old drive...

Geez, here we go again about TRIM.

Here we go again people making a big deal about TRIM ; I've had an Intel G1 SSD for a year (as well another non-Intel SSD without TRIM) and I can tell you for typical users, not having TRIM makes hardly any difference ; First off Intel drivers are the...

It's a G1

Check the sequential speed. It says It's 70mb/s. Well when Intel released the G2 it also upped the 160gb model up to 100mb/s sequential write. That's how you can tell its a G1.

It's Cheap

It's a G1 ; No TRIM ; No Garbage Collection

Do Not Buy this

Because it's a limited return policy on this, you will get a store credit. But really, if they just plainly stated that the SSD included was a G1 not a G2, people could make an informed choice. As it is, all buying this did was result in a lot of...

Complete package with external drive enclosure, cable, and software to make the transitioni easy

No where does it say that this is the G1 product, with half the cache and about 1/3rd worse benchmarking results than the G2 version. The only way you find that out is after you open the package

Dane-Elec SSD

The replacement of my laptop disk drive was accomplished quickly and easily. Everything I needed was in the box and it all worked flawlessly.

Faster than traditional spinning magnetic platter disk ; Not suseptible to mechanical damage due to G forces ; No mechanical motion, hence no fragmentation delay due to cylinder seeking or rotational latency ; USB case and disk copy software included

Cost is higher than traditional magnetic disk of same capacity
