Hitachi RC221 RICE Cooker

Works well, we like the look.

When the cooker switches to "warm" (orange light), it has to be switched off because the rice starts drying out very quickly - if left on for more than a minute it becomes dry and hard.

REALLY easy to use. The rice tastes 100 x nicer than when you boil it. Cooks perfect rice every time, and is very easy to clean. I now eat rice nearly every day!

Would benefit from an on/off switch as you have to unplug the mains lead to switch it off properly (otherwise it remains on 'warm'). It occasionally boils over but i've found that simply lifting the lid for about about 10 seconds halfway through...

I have lived in the Far East through my life and rice cookers were easy to come by so I took them for granted. Since coming to the UK I have been going out of my mind with European Rice cookers that simply make terrible rice. The Hitachi is BRILLIANT!!...

Lid could fit better

The spatula is rather flimsy and of poor material. Hence, it is difficult to scoop up the rice, and after some minimal use the plastic begins to peel off.
