Bought this as Christmas gift for my wife and when we opened it up and plugged it in and turned it on the red power light came on , but after waiting 30 min no heat nothing so I went out bought a Faber grill it looked just like the griddler and it worked.

I owned a George Foreman equivalent and this by far exceeds the quality. It was worth every penny and is so easy to use and clean.
