HyperX Alloy Rise review: a lightning performance keyboard with weak software

A mechanical gaming keyboard focused on performance - but does anything set it apart?

Ultra-light actuation ; Good gaming performance ; Hot-swappable and customizable

Basic software ; No wrist rest ; No wireless option

As a thoroughbred gaming keyboard, the HyperX Alloy Rise is a competent performer that’s a joy to use for the most part. The compact layout puts all the important keys within reach, while HyperX’s Red Linear switches make for rapid strokes – although...

HyperX Alloy Origins

If premium features aren't what you're after, HyperX's Alloy Origins may be the nicest no-nonsense midrange mechanical keyboard around.

Solidly made chassis. Well-priced. Proprietary switches offer unique feel. Detachable USB-C cable.

No creature comforts, such as dedicated macro keys or USB pass-through ports.

Bottom Line: If premium features aren't what you're after, HyperX's Alloy Origins may be the nicest no-nonsense midrange mechanical keyboard around.

HyperX Alloy Rise Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review: Magnetic Customization… at a Price

Hot-swappable switches, magnetic cases, and a great typing experience help, but don't completely offset the $200 price tag.

Excellent typing and gaming experience ; 8kHz polling for exceptional responsiveness ; Exceptional customization options ; Easy programmability

Expensive ; Not wireless ; NGENUITY software is lackluster

The HyperX Alloy Rise is customizable, well-built, and wired. It’s expensive but with its 8kHz polling rate, fast switches, and easy programmability, it offers solid performance for the money.
