Keeps on keeping on.

I don't really remember how much I paid for this "factory refurbished" machine on ebay, it was so long ago. I am guessing about $125 but it may have been less than that. Ours is a plain Jane black, not all stainless steel. It is stainless steel...

A real workhorse. 5+ cups per day for nearly five years ; With pressurized portafilter, just slight tamping required

Steam wand drips all the time machine is on

The serviceman will charge you $60 an hour.

I received this machine as a wedding gift. I believe it was a refurbished machine. In the last three years I've has it fixed at least 5 times, thereby investing in the machine what my brother probably paid for it. Now it's broke again...I would say...

Super value for the money. Very reliable. A great product.

We researched a lot of machines and found that, for the money the Saeco, gave really great value. It pulls very nice shots and is forgiving of grind. It must be warmed up properly to work well.

Great machine ; Stainless metal body looks good in my kitchen ; Pulls really nice shots (even when my husband uses it) ; Steam wand works well ; Easy to clean

Hard to fit bigger cups under tray for drinks like americanos or allonges

Just keeps making GREAT coffee, day after day after day...

I used to drink Melitta style drip coffee. In 2002 I was visiting my wife's relatives in Europe. They do not make "American" coffee in that country, they make espresso. It was all I had to replace the drip coffee I had always drank. Upon returning to...

Easy to use. Trouble Free. Die hard machine

Switch lights go out after a few years. But no big deal to replace with parts from Saeco

Would definitely buy again.

Started my espresso days 20 years ago with a Salton steam machine...made good 'strong coffee' and not bad milk based drinks, one at a time. In the early 90's was a go owner of a Cappuccino Cart that we rented for festival events, which had a Rancillio...

Ease of use ; Good espresso ; Lots of steam

The only thing so far is the oft mentioned leaking steam wand...but it's no big deal

If you can find a better Espresso Machine in this class for the money...buy it!

After reading for 18 months about espresso, beans, roasting, shots, barristas, I realized I knew nothing about coffee. This is after owning three coffee shops in South America for 10 years, with a commercial Pavoni double head espresso machine, Bunn...

Heats fast ; Good steam for frothing ; Good footprint ; Stainless easy to clean ; Quick recovery

Cheap portafilter ; Steam wand leaks

Good Quality Home Espresso Machine - Very Easy to Operate

After reading many reviews and making the decision to purchase this particular Saeco machine, tracking one down was a nightmare! Most stores were sold out and on a long backorder wait. Finally found one on 1st Line Equipment website and they were...

True stainless steel machine - not plastic like others in it's price range. Very easy to use, even for a novice

Had a hard time locating one on short notice prior to Christmas. Most places were sold out and on backorder

Nice design, liked the stainless steel but if the machine breaks Saeco may not stand behind their product!

I bought my Saeco espresso classico SS on 5/7/04 from Whole Latte Love and used it happily for 7 months. The steam wand leaked but there were no major issues until it started smoking out of the frothing wand. I tried descaling with no luck. I sent it...

Worked for 7 months and made good espresso during that time

Horrible customer service and had many problems with the machine

Avis d'utilisateur (coffeegeek.com)

Reasonably good machine that can produce good shots at a reasonable price - great mid-level home machine.

As you may know, this machine comes standard with a pressurized portafilter. Even so, and against popular opinion, I've been able to make some very nice espressi, machiatti, and capuccini - better than many that I've got from coffeehouses. I'll be...

fairly small footprint on the countertop ; attractive brushed stainless steel, NOT plastic ; quick warmup ; solid construction on the whole ; ease of use (except frothing - read on) ; relatively reasonable price

steam capacity insufficient (found a workaround though) ; cheezy-feeling plasticy protafilter assembly ; insufficient steam capacity ; plastic portion of portafilter handle holds brewed coffee and needs careful cleaning (thank goodness for the...

A sleek, stainless-steel workhorse that stands up to more expensive machines. Big bang for your buck!

There is a learning curve with this machine. I've had this machine since 2004 and am still finding new things out about it to this day. The proper way that I, personally, have found to operate this machine to make a cappucino/latte (so far) goes like...

One of the better espresso machines in its class. Pulls amazing shots for the money paid! Solid, stainless-steel construction, large, straight-forward buttons, strong steaming function, fairly large drip tray, and classic shape for the steam wand. ...

The machine comes with two sizes of filter inserts for the portafilter - a one shot and a two shot size. I threw out the one shot size because I brew using the ristretto method. As for other negatives, the steam wand drips when it's not in use - you...
