As we researched to find the best coffee grinder, we found espresso enthusiasts agreed that the Mazzer Mini set the standard for quality grinders. Don't let the "mini" in the name confuse you, this is no lesser machine - it's just the smallest...

I bought this machine based primarily on the consumer reviews here. I will not re-review most of the points in those reviews, because they are accurate, and it is a great machine. My issues are that I am using a machine with a doser as if it were...
Solid, well built machine. Consistent grind. Quiet
Doser is difficult to empty completely. Chute holds too much coffee. "egg timer" type dial for control

This is my first serious grinder, which I got after upgrading from a Breville conical burr grinder. I got the short hopper, but it barely fits under my cupboards, so after a few weeks of experimenting, I've ditched the hopper and measure my beans and...
Excellent grind consistency, granularity, control ; Quiet compared to other grinders ; Large hopper, which you can remove with beans in it without spilling them ; Looks amazing
Portafilter fork is too far from doser ; Sweeping in the doser is not as effective as it could be (fixed with a simple modification) ; Grinder land on the centre of the doser arms, which get stuck there

After purchasing a Solis Maestro and opening the package to look at the machine inside, I immediately repackaged the machine and sent it back to the supplier. It looked like a tinker toy. By comparison, the Mini was liberated from its packaging with...
This machine delivers consistently excellent grinding. I keep reading about tweaking the machine to produce even better results but the coffee produced by this machine works exceptionally well on just the factory setting
I agree that the doser fork is too low and either should be raised or some sort of extension should be added to the left side of the doser chute to keep the coffee directed to the portafilter. I can't imagine what they were thinking when they attached...

Not only is this grinder fast, but after many uses, you still do not see any loss of torque power. Mini has absolutely zero static which makes the cleaning very easy. Mini's quietness is really amazing. I have heard about mini mazzer famed low unique...
Heavy duty construction of the frame and body ; Superb grind quality and consistency ; Infinite Grind Settings ; Quiet ; Sleek and modern look
The doser throws the grinds hard to the left unless you pull the handle gently. The large distance between the portafilter rest and the bottom of the doser makes this problem worse
Avis d'utilisateur (coffeegeek.com)
The grind is very even and the change in taste from the coffee was dramatic when switching over from a good hand mill. Wonderfully repeatable if changing grind and back. Available in tall and short hopper (I have short). Doser can sweep reasonably...
Consistent, adjustable, repeatable set points. Change from ristretto to French press and back in a snap. Solid, hefty construction. Looks the part. Quiet
Chute does not fully clear. Doser does not quite sweep clear. Annoying finger guard (removeable though). Some static issues with certain coffees
Avis d'utilisateur (coffeegeek.com)
Moving up from a lesser grinder to the Mazzer Mini was a real pleasure and eye opener. It really is all about the grinder. I have to look back now and say that my real espresso life began when I got this grinder. It is all that I could ever ask for a...
Great solid grinder for the home user. Appears to be built like a tank and should last a very long time
The power cord on my unit comes out the side towards the front. Sort of in the way
Avis d'utilisateur (coffeegeek.com)
A lot has already been written - no need to repeat.
Easy to use ; Reliable ; Looks great ; Timer is great
Doser can be a pain - but you get used to it
Avis d'utilisateur (coffeegeek.com)
UPGRADING FROM ROCKY DOSERLESS TO MAZZER MINI
build quality beyond reproach ; grind and resulting shot quality ; easy to dial in ; stepless adjustment and ability to fine tune grind ; looks ; quiet
some wasted coffee ; needs modifications to work well in home use ; too tall with standard hopper ; the usual: power cord location, throws grinds to the left, distance between portafilter fork and doser too long, inefficient sweep / retained grounds...
