Gaggia Carezza Deluxe Review | Trusted Reviews

A stylish coffee machine that produces excellent coffee, but has a few quirks.

Smart design ; Great, reliable coffee quality

Operational quirks ; Look and function of controls not always in harmony

Gaggia Carezza Deluxe review

  (Note Caché)

Gaggia says Gaggia RI8525 Carezza De Luxe espresso machine is an example of 'continually evolving tradition'. That is, a high-tech home espresso machine that looks like a traditional café espresso maker, so you feel like a real barista. We reveal full...

Hands down this is a professional machine for a discount price, spend the extra 30 bucks on a good tamper...

First off let me start by saying they don't call me Mr. Research for nothing. I check re-check and then double check everything I do over and over and over till I know that I have found the best of the best that I can get for the money. So when I...

Easy use ; fast heat up ; water reservoir fills from top or removable container ; heavy brass 58mm portafilter ; relatively easy to clean up

Steam spout is a little low ; Portafilter has a plastic dispenser instead of being molded brass like it used to be. (after 1 year no problems with it) ; Steam spout does drip right after you "prime" the machine (and it's like 4 or 5 drips, no big deal)...

Great machine for the price!

I bought this machine because it was cheap, my original plan was to pick up one of the other entry level Gaggias. It seems they all have the same internals and as a group they're probably one of the best values on the entry level market, IMHO - so just...

Great quality internals for a cheap machine. Probably one of the better entry level machines available

Can be a hair clunky in terms of usability

Makes good coffee but NOISY

I had a Krups from Costco that I've used for about 5 years and it was always a battle to get it to work right. It had too little pump power and too little steam heat. I'm mainly judging the Gaggia by the experience I had with the Krups.

Powerful Pump ; Hot steam ; Good instructions

Very noisy with the plastic case rattling while pumping ; Frothing nozzle(with foaming attachment) is too low to get a cup under it without spilling the steamed milk ; Difficult to get the right amount of froth and the right temperature when steaming...

Lacks in both built quality and usability. Would not recommend.

I bought this machine after reading some of the positive comments on this site.

Makes good quality shots

Lacks in both built quality and usability. Functional design is appalling

great machine, great price, good value

I have grown to really like my machine. When I got it I was able to make some pretty great espresso right out of the box. I did have a couple of problems with my machine when I bought it.

The reason I chose my machine is that it has all the same components as the more expensive Gaggias, some of the main features I like ; huge wattage- this translates into more steam power and quicker recovery ; commercial style portafilter, it is heavy...

Some of the features that I don't like about my machine ; The silver is a paint that can be scuffed pretty easily, in fact it came from the factory scuffed, WholeLatteLove.com were pretty fair and knocked off 50.00 from the price. So I cannot...

Can this be the ONE?

This is my first experience with espresso making and did the normal forum lurking and googling. Based upon data I gathered about prices, types of makers, and personal perferences, I decided to go with the Gaggia Carezza. I managed to find one on...

Only 3 switches (power, steam, brew) and 1 knob (steam) ; About size of coffee maker

Cannot disassemble for cleaning ; To nitpick, no storage facilities for filter baskets, etc., but I guess only a fully auto would not need storage facilities

For making a reasonable shot of espresso this machine is a bargain, it has already paid for itself, having kept me chain store free since I've had it.

My wife and I sold our fully automatic Gaggia Synchony Compact when we moved from London UK to Houston Texas. When we arrived in Texas we had grandiose ideas about upgrading to a fancier fully automatic. However surfing the coffee lists on Amazon I...

Makes nice shots with rich crema. Lots of pressure, easy to use and clean. Seems built to last. Reputable brand for 200 bucks

Its a little bit noisy and has some ergonomic foibles, such as the inconveniently located water reservoir and the low steamer. I keep it next to the edge of the bench as I find I need to hold frothing milk jug below bench level to get it clear of the...

Good beginner machine, but will ultimately need to be replaced.

I loved the experience of having my own espresso machine at first and I was willing to overlook all the negatives of this machine. After a year of owning it, I'm ready to move on.

Easy to learn on. Good price. Makes a decent shot

Plastic exterior gets old quick in the kitchen ; Hard to clean ; Too short ; Steamer doesn't do its job ; Grouphead gets dirty quickly and is hard to clean, mine has also started to corrode
