Review: Aerobie AeroPress

Any muscle-head can make decent espresso with this simple device. Just add grounds and hot water to the chamber and wait 10 seconds. Then insert...

Lightweight, durable, and compact; best unit for camping. Costs less than two weeks of store-bought lattes. Filters are a penny apiece. Makes up to four shots at once

Maintaining even pressure is impossible unless you’re a robot (in which case, why drink espresso?). Single shots come out a little watery. No pods

Best manual one-cup coffee maker

Although it's not automated like pod coffee makers, reviewers agree the Aerobie AeroPress is inexpensive, compact and simple to operate. A paper filter and coffee grounds are placed in the plastic tube, which is held over a cup while hot water is...

Inexpensive, strong, smooth brew, simple to operate, easy to clean

Large amount of coffee required, preheated hot water needed, force required to press down the plunger, requires disposable filters

CoffeeGeek - Aerobie Aeropress - Ted Goldstein's Review

I am a low level coffee geek. I am content with Peets Expresso Roast brewed in a Melitta filter cone. I can carried away on a trip to Kona or crawl through cafes in SF or Manhattan with other Coffee Geeks.

Very positive first experience. The coffee was delicious and easy to make. Among the best cups of coffee that I ever had ; Not hard to use (but you do have to read the directions). Even better, watch the online video

May be too complicated for first cup of the day (my copper pavoni is way too complicated for the first cup of the day) ; They suggest 175 degrees water brewing temperature for dark roast. They suggest using a thermometer. . I am going to have to go out...

Fantastic tasting coffee

Easy to use, easy to clean. The coffee tastes amazing - so sludge at the bottom of the cup, made from plastic - great for travelling. I doubt we'll ever use our french press again.

best coffee maker

The aeropress is a modern age french press. The coffee is cleaner and it doesn't allow the coffee granules to go through. I love it, although DH makes an effort to forget to make one for me!

Easy to use and great coffee!

I first tried the AeroPress at work and was so impressed by how easy it was to use and the creaminess of the coffee that I had to buy one to use at home. All my friends want one now and I'd definitely recommend it. The only problem is it doesn't make a...

excellent coffee for traveling

I've had one for a while and mainly use it when traveling, together with a trusty enamel coffee pot. Thou have to follow the timings carefully, and it can be hard to get the pressure down sometimes, buy the result is excellent. Having said that, the...

CoffeeGeek - Aerobie Aeropress - Ed Budzilowicz's Review

The main contribution I want to make is, I've discovered that the AeroPress can be used to make a demitasse, brewing directly into the demitasse cup (rather than making it in a mug and pouring into the demitasse). The advantage is you will, of course,...

inexpensive vs. espresso machine; elegant solution; ease of use; easy cleanup; portable

needs larger amount of grounds than with many other methods; hard to plunge if using fine grind

CoffeeGeek - Aerobie Aeropress - Sam Decock's Review

First off, I use the Aeropress with the Disk from the Coava Coffee Company. I have not used the standard paper filters.

Infinite amount of ways to brew ; Easy to clean ; Travel friendly ; A quick brew method ; Allows for brewing small amounts of coffee

Not the most eye pleasing device ; Rubber foot on plunger absorbs coffee smells
