squeezebox duet does all i need

i love my squeezebox duet. i now have access to my huge mp3 collection and have found i probably enjoy the various internet radio stations as much as my mp3 collection. it's great. though this is just for the remote control, i don't understand what...

can access entire mp3 library from upstairs desktop pc on my downstairs high end stereo system. love the internet radio stations too going from the squeezebox duet via optical audio cable

the software is a little funky. occassionally i need to reset the network settings to factory settings and re-establish the network wep keys, etc. you definitely should have some knowledge with basic wireless networking, etc

Great start

I have Squeezebox server running on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5, with the Squeezebox repository installed for updates. This also provides a web interface to control playback which is pretty decent but not perfect (all actions require postback which kind...

Decent interface: selection wheel resembles iPod (but the wheel actually spins instead of touch-sensitive) ; Loads of features and room to grow: great for techies. You can ssh into the remote (BusyBox) and documentation can be found for developers...

The software has a lot of room for improvement. Features like the accelerometer aren't fully taken advantage of with the current firmware. The last major firmware update made some significant improvements to the device performance, but I haven't seen...

Why doesn't Newegg sell the whole product line?

Mine picks up the neighbor's wi-fi from 400 feet away and 30 feet of elevation change -- if yours has reception problems, you maybe got a bum unit.

Rip your CDs to a server, then stick them in the closet forever and get 'em out of the way! Listen to streaming radio stations ; The charger base has a lot of ballast so it actually sits solidly on a surface. Nice design ; Open source server software

This item is useless by itself! Why does Newegg sell this and not the rest of the Squeezebox line

Control music throughout the house

If you can set up a reliable, properly configured WiFi network (which can be difficult in densely-populated urban areas, where there are so many other networks overlapping), and have an kind of Squeezebox receivers (Classic, Duet, Radio, Boom, etc.) or...

Lets me control music in multiple rooms, with different rooms synchronized or playing different music. Fantastic for parties. Fast interface: I can scroll through 900+ albums in seconds. Screen is bright, displaying album cover art, which makes albums...

Not for the tech or WiFi challenged. You have to have a sound WiFi setup in your house, and know how to configure it. You also have to configure the Controller settings properly, so it will sleep when not in use (mine goes to sleep if it hasn't been...

Awful Product

Absolutely not worth it. Worst purchase I have ever made.

Slick interface ; Lots of nice features ; Built in list of internet radio stations ; Apps for Pandora and Sirius ; You can run your own music server and make your whole music collection available online

Constantly looses wireless connection. This would be a great product if it worked reliably. I have tried 2 different wireless routers, all sorts of different configurations nothing will allow this device to stay connected for more than a few hours. The...
