Panasonic DMR-HW100

Panasonic unleashes its first Freeview HD PVR, a 320GB, network-enabled machine with a whole host of funky features.

Lots of superb features ; Flexible recording and editing functionality ; Easy to use ; Versatile multimedia capabilities ; Smooth picture quality

No built-in Wi-Fi ; Poor EPG ; Viera Cast's comparatively limited content ; No Scart output ; Hesitant video streaming

On the back you’ll find HDMI, optical digital audio and analogue stereo outputs, an Ethernet port, RF in/out and a second USB port that can be used to connect a wireless LAN adapter or a communication camera when using the built-in Skype functionality....

Panasonic DMR-HW100 review

The Panasonic DMR-HW100 Freeview+HD PVR packs 3D capability

Good recording quality ; 3D compatibility ; Slick design

Uneven streaming media ; Miserly hard drive ; Limited IPTV portal

Panasonic DMR-HW100

A capable machine, but it struggles to match the best for all-round ability

Records two channels simultaneously ; stable, detailed standard-def and high-def images

Relatively small drive ; no wi-fi built in ; currently no BBC iPlayer ; unintuitive menus

Panasonic DMR-HW100 review

The new DMR-HW100 is Panasonic's latest attempt at a PVR with integrated Freeview HD tuners – the 320GB hard disk inside should be large enough for around 85 hours of high definition television, but that isn't its only highlight. With DLNA media...

A competent multi-tuner PVR with the bonus of DLNA media streaming, but its limited format support and basic interface count against it

Panasonic DMR-HW100 HDD DVR

Review Panasonic returns to the UK DVR market after an abortive early foray, with a 3D-enabled, media-streaming TV recorder. Rather more convincing than the brand's first generation model, the DMR-HW100 offers access to the online VieraCast portal, has...

While some 3D features offered by the DMR-HW100 have little practical use - Frame Width can only be construed as the height of madness - its support for MPO snaps and 2D-to-3D conversion make it an interesting proposition. However such 3D frippery is...

Great item

Bought this as a replacement. It's far more superior to my previous one. Got it for half the price it is at Panasonic. Excellent

Just what I wanted

I brought this recorder after a failed attempt with a Goodmans. Plugged it in and off I went. Easy to use, looks good and does what it says on the tin. Only gripe is the extra expense of the HDMI lead. You can't use the machine without it so why not...
