Yamaha neoHD Media Controllers Preview

The Yamaha neoHD YMC-500 and YMC-700 are receivers that have integrated universal remote features and technology. Yamaha's neoHD Media Controllers are taking all the guesswork one remote for control.

While the neoHD YMC-500 and YMC-700 may not be the most full featured of products, they are taking a huge step forward in system integration. While most entry level users would never dream of integrating a universal remote product into their system,...

Yamaha YMC-500 neoHD Media Controller Review

I think there will come a time at Halloween when I could hand out the remote controls scattered about my house along with candy corn and gum, and satisfy the string of trick-or-treaters that canvass my neighborhood. Honestly, in each room where I...

Yamah neohd ymc-500

To all the people who have an xbox 360 and having issues with it dropping when trying to adjust the volume. Go into your console settings and turn off display discovery on the xbox. You may have to manulay set up your xbox but this solved the problem...

This thing sounds great compared to my old system. Easy to use interface witch my wife loves. Simple to hook up. Small size footprint

GUI dosn't look that great but it works

good concept, needs work

Nice of you want a real media controller, but requires too much setup for my taste.

On-screen interface ; Fantastic sleek look ; HDMI-town ; Insane deal when I bought it ; Good Yamaha audio quality

On-screen interface (again). I love the old push-button analog receiver feel, and it is not present in any way here ; Still haven't figured out how to NOT use the on-screen interface, and just turn it on and get booming sound. I only use it when going...

Great deal for $99!

Fairly straightforward setup for me - cable via TiVo and Samsung BluRay inputs; output to Sharp Aquos. Ran through the setup screens without a problem and am satisfied by the auto-balancing it did for my speakers in my small condo living room. Don't...

Occasionally, the sound from the TiVo won't re-sync after fast-forward/backward. But no big deal, usually go back a bit and it re-syncs just fine

Serious Bugs

Bought this PSU about a year ago for my gaming system and it's been excellent. Very solid. As I bonus if you have a Rosewill case (I do) it fits exceptionally well.

At face value, this appeared to be exactly what I needed. I have a ceiling-mounted projector some distance away from my devices. I needed device that could handle several HDMI inputs with sound in an easy way. I have an HD cable box, an XBOX 360 and a...

The bugs started appearing immediately upon installation. First, it has resolution problems with the selection user interface it presents on startup. Upon starting up it tries to display in extremely low 480 resolution. This results in only a small...

Nice receiver for less than $100

I wouldn't pay retail for this unit but at the closeout price it is a pretty good deal. It does have its faults but the low price outweighs any inconvenience they may cause.

This is a pretty good deal at $99.99 and it looks like I may have gotten one of the last ones. I like that I can get rid of all of my remotes for a single one. But I will still have to use the TV remote to watch over the air programming (there may be a...

There are a few issues ; There was no profile for a Roku XD box but I was able to program the Yamaha remote to function pretty much the same as the Roku one ; Also there was no profile for my Dynex TV. After a little research online I discovered that...

How to Fix HTPC Signal Problems

After a bottle of gin and much weeping, I've figured out how to fix the signal dropping issue on PCs. My firmware is 1.03 ; When running a 1080p signal from my video card, the receiver incorrectly interpreted it as 1080i. When changing the volume, it...
