Samsung Chromebook Pro review: One misstep spoils the show

The Chromebook Pro looks great, has a wonderful screen and enough power to do just about whatever you need. But poor battery life is a major letdow.

Excellent design ; Strong performance ; Best-in-class display

Expensive (for a Chromebook) ; Poor battery life ; Android apps still need some work

After testing the Chromebook Pro, I had to admit that it's not the king of the Chromebooks I was hoping for when it was first announced. It does plenty of things well -- I love its looks, screen and performance, but the keyboard's a bit cramped and the...

Samsung Chromebook Pro review

Despite some oddities, Samsung's Chromebook Pro moves Chrome OS into a new era.

Sturdy chassis ; Beautiful display ; Full Android app support ; Satisfying performance ; Compact design

Cramped keyboard layout ; Middling battery life

Samsung’s Chromebook Pro is a premium, ambitious system, with a lot going for it when it comes to design and feature set. There’s some awkwardness associated with Google Play’s recent introduction to Chrome OS, but the problems are minor, and...

Samsung Chromebook Pro review

The next-generation Chromebook is here

Stunning, vivid screen ; Stylus support on Chrome OS ; Gorgeous, simple design

Cramped keyboard ; 9 hours max battery life ; Weak speakers

The Samsung Chromebook Pro skews a little too heavily towards being an Android tablet. Regardless, it’s a solid hybrid that brings us one step closer to the perfect marriage between Chrome OS and Android.

Samsung Chromebook Pro will convert the meanest Chromebook skeptic

Adding Android apps and a premium stylus, the Samsung Chromebook Pro is my new budget laptop to beat.

A very long list of features for the price, including a QHD touch display, hybrid hinge and included stylus. Adding support for the Google Play app store means this Chromebook can access a wide range of software.

The keyboard and touchpad both remind you this is a budget laptop, and the accelerometer is way too touchy. Running too many apps and browser windows at once eats up the RAM quickly, leading to slowdown.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro will make a believer out of many Chromebook skeptics by offering great value, features and performance for a budget-priced laptop.

Samsung Chromebook Pro

Samsung's premium Chromebook Pro is one of the first chromebooks to run Android apps. But it's likely only a matter of time before less expensive models roll out with the same functionality.

Effective, well-designed stylus. Access to Google Play Store increases functionality both online and off.

Expensive. Battery life is unremarkable for a chromebook. Squarish shape is a little awkward when typing. Legacy peripherals require an adapter.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro benefits from being one of the first chromebooks to launch with the Google Play store. But at the end of the day, that's not a benefit exclusive to this laptop. It will apply to all chromebooks launching this year, so this...
