ECS Liva Z2 Mini PC

The ECS Liva Z2 is a quiet, low-power mini desktop for niche use cases. It isn't fast enough to be a main PC for most folks, but it's an inexpensive option for digital signage, kiosks, and similar environs.

Compact, quiet fanless design. Easily upgradable memory and storage. 4K output over HDMI. USB-C connection. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

A little sluggish for serious multitasking work or typical home use. Only 32GB of flash storage included.

Bottom Line: The ECS Liva Z2 is a quiet, low-power mini desktop for niche use cases. It isn't fast enough to be a main PC for most folks, but it's an inexpensive option for digital signage, kiosks, and similar environs.

ECS LIVA One Skylake mini-PC Review

The desktop PC market has been subject to many challenges over the last few years. However, the miniaturization trend (including the introduction of the ultra-compact form factor - UCFF - NUCs) has provided some bright spots. The recent introduction of...

Back to the ECS LIVA One, we can say that the mini-PC packs a lot of punch in an economical package with acceptable trade-offs. The introduction of the mSTX form factor and systems like the LIVA One will serve to expand the market for DIY PC...

ECS LIVA Core Review: A Fanless Core M mini-PC

Core M is a great fit for fanless 2-in-1s. However, in a desktop form factor, we believe consumers might be more attracted to the cheaper Braswell-based fanless PCs or opt to sacrifice the looks and form factor a bit, pay a premium and go for the...

ECS LIVA x2 Review: A Compact & Fanless Braswell PC

The popularity of the NUC form factor has led to a resurgence in the nettop category. Thankfully, the core computing performance of the new systems has been miles ahead of the nettops of the past, and this has created an overall positive sentiment for...

Coming to the business end of the review, we can say that, taken standalone, the ECS LIVA x2 more than delivers $170 worth of computing performance. It also manages to keep thermals under limit for consumer workloads. Features such as the EZ Charge USB...

ECS LIVA Review: The Nettop Rises Again

Nettops and netbooks, as a class of products, have been on the decline over the last few years. The most significant issue with the nettops was obviously the anaemic CPU performance. As consumers realized that they could get much better performance per...

Back to the bigger picture, the question here is obviously the effect of LIVA on the nettop category. ECS has managed to put out a product which delivers better performance per dollar and better performance per watt compared to previous generation...

ECS LIVA Z2V review

A minuscule marvel

Quiet operation ; Compact size

Slow internal storage ; 8GB of RAM can be limiting

This tiny PC is great to hide away as a simple PC for powering signage, but anything more taxing will start to slow it down. If you’re looking for a compact PC to display video loops or use as a thin client, the ECS LIVA Z2V will fit the bill easily....

ECS Liva X review: Interesting form factor, but nothing outstanding to merit a recommendation - Tech2

We review the ECS Liva X small form factor PC which comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB flash storage

The ECS Liva X does not have anything impressive to offer for us to recommend it. Just like some overpriced mini PCs we have seen in the past, the Liva X treads the same path. If you are still sold on the compact form factor of the ECS Liva X, you may...

ECS Liva Z Plus Review and Ratings

A compact, powerful Core i5 mini-desktop with an integrated mic and the option for vPro support, the Liva Z Plus works well as a multitasking dynamo deployed en masse for space-strapped offices or in small meeting rooms, or as an effective 4K signage...

Footprint is the size of a CD jewel case ; VPro support ; VESA-mountable

Accepts only short (42mm) M.2 SSDs, and no 2.5-inch bay ; No USB ports on back panel ; Mini-DisplayPort output with no mini-to-full-size adapter

Given that you're looking at a bit above or below $500 for the ECS Liva Z Plus in our test config, depending on whether you have to add a Windows 10 license, you need to ask how much you need the processor pop of a Core i5 before diving in.

Small and stylish.

Not powerful enough for use on a daily basis.

For most people, the ECS LIVA X2 will not be appropriate. For those of you who are in the market for something just like this, however, it could be worth thinking about.
