Apple iMac 27in

It's true. Big can be beautiful.

The 27in iMac may not be flawless, but it is peerless. The few improvements that could be made don't detract from the fact that this is quite simply the best iMac, and possibly even the best Mac, Apple has ever made.

Apple iMac 27-inch (27-inch

Fastest all-in-one; largest all-in-one display; bidirectional Mini DisplayPort input lets the iMac double as a second monitor; SD card slot (finally); wireless mouse and keyboard included.

No Blu-ray; no support for external HDMI device input out-of-the-box; lame support policies.

We're a little late to the Core i7 iMac review party, but that doesn't make Apple's highest-end all-in-one any less impressive. With the fastest CPU and the largest display in its category, we find our criticisms of this system mostly wash away in a...

Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i7)

Apple puts an Intel Core i7 into its huge 27-inch iMac desktop. It's power and beauty all rolled into one.

Huge display. Quad-core CPU with TurboBoost. Wireless keyboard. Wireless Magic Mouse. Mini DisplayPort input. Better screen resolution than a 1080p HDTV. EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0 certified.

Card reader is SD-only. No eSATA. Requires third-party adapter for HDMI or DVI input. No Blu-ray option. No numeric keypad on wireless keyboard.

Apple iMac (27-inch/Core i7) All-in-One PC Desktop Review

Simply the fastest all-in-one PC we've seen ; Beautiful big 27-inch display

Lacks extras: Multi-touch, Blu-ray, TV tuner, etc ; Pricey

Fastest all-in-one PC we've seen runs Windows and OS X, and has a huge screen…but lacks extras like mulit-touch, Blu-ray, and a TV tuner.

Review: Apple 27-Inch iMac

With a stupid-large, superbright display and a blazingly fast quad-core processor, the 27-inch iMac is an envy-inspiring desktop all-in-one computer.

Did we mention the screen? Sexpot good looks. Core i7 processor is fast enough for the autobahn, and quad-core technology means you get support for next year’s apps today

All-glass front enclosure throws off enough glare to give you a tan. Screen is too big for anyone under 6-foot-2, unless they’re sitting on a phone book. Speakers have too much low-end. You’re better off hooking up some sleek Harman Kardons or, better...

Apple iMac 27-inch (Core 2 Duo)

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Core 2 Duo) grows a few inches wider and gains a Mini DisplayPort, but does it offer enough to compete with the new Windows 7 multitouch systems?

Continues design dominance. Wireless keyboard. Wireless Magic Mouse. Mini DisplayPort input. Better screen resolution than a 1080p HDTV. EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0.

Card reader is SD-only. No eSATA. Requires third-party adapter for HDMI or DVI input. No Blu-ray option. ; Watch our Apple iMac 27-inch (Core 2 Duo) video review!

27-inch Apple iMac (late 2009)

Apple's iMac has gone from the bulbous fruit-coloured models to a glorious large flat screen with a computer bolted on to it over the last 10 years. But should you think about adorning your desk with one? We did just that to find out. The iMac 27-inch...

Screen, storage, graphics, design

No Blu-ray, no wall mount feature, lights can play havoc with your glossy screen

The iMac 27-inch is a stunning computer that is only let down by how good it actually is. That crystal clear and clean screen performs beautifully, however that means that unless you are watching or working in HD, everything will look, well, just not...

Apple's 27-inch iMac review

It's the biggest all-in-one Apple have ever offered, not to mention the fastest and most media-centric, and it's pretty much guaranteed to hypnotize anybody

Apple 27-inch 3.06GHz iMac review

The 27in screen has a huge 2,560x1,440 pixels. This is roughly equivalent to four 13.3in MacBook displays stuck together. The screen has a glass finish that reflects light from overhead sources, causing distracting glare. It's very bright, though -...

Apple's latest iMac is desirable, but it's neither an entertainment all-rounder nor a true powerhouse.
