"Lifetime" Map Updates That Aren't Valid For A Lifetime

Apparently TomTom thinks that a "lifetime" is 90 days, because if you forget to pull your device out of your car and plug it into your computer at least once every 90 days, they will invalidate your map subscription and then demand ~$100/year if you...

Decent enough size screen to get you from point A to point B without missing too many turns.

The user interface feels extremely limited and unintuitive (since when do you write an address with the city first, then the street, and then the street number last???). No pinch zooming on the maps. There is a significant enough of delay in screen...

Lifetime maps is a joke!

It seems that a smartphone is the way to go since you get map updates on the run, only for your immediate area and changing conditions are reflected a lot more rapidly.

(1) It is out of stock now. (2) It is newer than what I have.

When I bought this, I based it largely on my old Tom Tom, which has lots of options, customizable content, offers maps for sale from most continents, celebrity voices, customizable images and interfaces. I was attracted by the unlimited maps, but the...

Could be better.

If I had it to buy over again I would pay a little more for what this one lacks!

Large screen, light weight comes with free lifetime map updates, faster than my old One third.

I prefer the old interface like my one third, no free camera updates like my one third, the one free camera update kept receiving errors than ended after one day no easy way to add options, no live traffic and touch screen requires a real firm press to...

Not as great as I thought...

I read all the reviews about this product before purchase, and although there were a lot of complaints about the battery I felt as though I wouldn't have that issue. Well I did, and now I regret buying it. I should have went with my gut and bought a...

I have read other reviews that said the Via was slow to aquire signal, however I did not have that issue. It was always quick to navigate and was generally pretty accurate. I never had an issue with an outdated map leading me astray and I liked the 5...

Now for the reason I gave it two stars. The battery in this thing sucks. The first Via I bought stopped working after using it for about 8 months or so, and it wouldn't turn on. Eventually I got it to turn on, and then it just stopped working...

TomTom 5.0" GPS Navigation with Lifetime Map Updates

If you do buy it do not update it online unless you absolutely need to.

Good for long trips Accurate maps

Often miscalculates your position causing a "turn here" 5 feet past where you should be turning. Only give 1 direction in advance so a series of turns will make you miss your turn unless you stare at the screen. Very often gives in inner city areas...

Works fine for me...

I had my doubts when I first purchased it, but in time it has paid off.

Easy to use UI Easy to Update Big 5" Screen Sturdy Windshield Mount Free Maps for Lifetime (Owned this for 2 years, I've saved over $100 in map updates.)

When I first bought it it wouldn't let me select a location by coordinates, since then it has been updated.
