TomTom Ease

Bargain hunters looking for their first GPS device should start the search with TomTom's latest navigator, the Ease. It's a budget-priced PND that offers all the basics, including robust POI search, text-to-speech for pronouncing street and highway...

Low price for a text-to-speech device. Streamlined UI. Simple, yet flexible mount

Feature-barren when compared with last-gen devices with lower prices. No lane assistance or real-time traffic. A few stray routing issues

TomTom's budget-priced Ease isn't brimming with high-end features, but it proves that the market for standalone GPS devices isn't dead yet, even on the low end.

TomTom recalculates direction on navigation devices that made it a household name

TomTom, the Dutch navigation equipment and digital map maker, is switching focus away from the cash-bleeding personal navigation devices that made it a household name to its auto and mapping services to restore growth and profits.

TomTom, whose founders have a majority stake in the company, competes in the PND market with Garmin and in the commercial digital map market with Google and Nokia Oyj.

Review: TomTom Ease

The TomTom Ease offers a simplified, affordable navigation experience for those willing to use a device with a smaller (3.5-inch) screen.

TomTom's new, simpler menu system on the Ease is a significant departure from what you'll find on virtually all other TomTom devices. A tap on the map screen brings up the main menu with two large icons: Plan Route and Browse Map. This is quite...

TomTom Ease GPS

The TomTom Ease is an entry-level GPS aimed at those who value simplicity. While it does not have a ton of bells and whistles, it has all the features necessary to provide navigational help. Best of all, it is affordably priced, retailing around $120.

The Help menu can be accessed from the home screen, which supplies urgent information in the case of an emergency. This feature will be discussed in more detail as we move along. In addition to all of these shortcuts, other features are accessible on...

Zumo Blog: Tecnologia. Opinião. Inteligência. » Hands on: GPS TomTom Ease

A TomTom mostrou a sua linha local de GPS com três novos aparelhos, sendo que o mais "renovado" deles é o TomTom EASE Brasil, versão mais básica que substitui o One Brasil como o modelo de entrada da empresa no País.

Its OK

Refurbished, Works fine, excellent value. Only complaint so far is the old Tom Tom I have automatically adjusts it volume the faster you drive. This new one doesn't, and you have to roll up the windows sometimes to clearly hear it.
