Failed Unit

 

I would likely purchase another Garmin product because they handled the exchange so well.

Nice large screen.

Failed after 6 months. Garmin did replace the unit within 3 weeks. Apparently heat was the problem that damaged the circuitry. Also the suction cup keeps falling off the windshield. About every week I have to reattach it. Not a big problem, but annoying.

I have contacted Garmin tech support to see if they will help with the update to current maps.

This is an excellent product, particularly considering it comes preloaded with both North America and Europe maps. This feature alone makes this a good deal if you need that area coverage. Very easy to use, bright, readable screen, and good features

The biggest drawback on this unit, is that it was manufactured/loaded nearly a year ago (inventory clearance?), and the internal maps are outdated as received ; The North American map is dated Apr 07, and needs a $79 update from Garmin. The European...

I just returned from a visit to Italy and used this Nuvi in Verona, Venice, Florence and Milan. The device worked very well where it could obtain a signal (see cons). In open skies, it could get a signal within a couple of minutes. Battery life is good...

On planes and on trains, it could not obtain satellites very well, except near the window. It also did not work at all in between tall buildings on narrow streets/alleys, especially in Venice. I didn't expect it to though, honestly, and I also expected...

My experience is that Garmin came with old maps. I thought ok, I would get free updates. But I got the free update only for Europe City Navigator. After 2 weeks from the purchase Garmin started to display a message indicating that I have more than 1...

It comes with old maps. When you e-mail to PCNation or Garmin to get a support nobody answers e-mails. Sometime it takes couple of minutes while Garmin finds satellites (even on open air).
