While this system sounds great, there are two major gaps that you need to consider before making this purchase. 1) Can't stream your own content over the network 2) The Wi-Fi adapter is very expensive --some other systems include the feature for less...

short cables and a/v sync issues

 

Bought it because it was cheap and i am an stereo virgin. Sony put super short cables on the "front" and center speakers. To elongate the cable you would need to cut the wire in the middle and splice it with traditional speaker wire. To make it work...

I received this as a gift to replace my 10 year old unit which had no HDMI. I hooked everything up and the unit displayed "protector/push power" and then went into standby. The book indicates this is some kind of short in the speakers or the cooling...

BUYER BEWARE - NO DIVX!

 

As described above, this unit does not play DivX .AVI files. (It plays Xvid fine, but not DivX). I confirmed this with Sony - they simply did not pay for the license to decode DivX streams on this unit.

Nice sound

Great for studio apartments

 

I live in a small studio apartment. The living space portion of my apt where I have this set up is about 12x20. Obviously in this small space this system is fantastic. I didn't so much want a surround system for loudness but for the surround sound...

Exelent Product for What I Paid for it

 

I haven't benn able to set up a wireless keyboard cuz it have only one usb port wich you have to use for the ipod/iphone dock.

It is aweson, works perfect. Bluray play anything you put in the drive if you know what I mean. Very fast interface with the home menu. True 5.1 on blueray movies. have 2 input hdmi for xbox and other devvices taht uses hdmi. Extreamly easy installation

At the first din't want to update firmware from internet. The interfase for the iphone is great but let you play though the playlist or preset sequence on iphone, if you want to use an ap and reproduce it on the system wont let you cuz don't have the...
