Grundig GUD300HD Set Top Box

 

As more areas prepare to turn their Analogue TV signals off more companies are bringing out HD TV digital boxes, here an offering from Grundig that in my area anyway gives stunning pictures from the three HD channels.

I found the picture quality was excellent on the 64 standard TV channels and stunning using the three available HD channels. For some reason all digital channels seem to have lower sound levels than Analogue and of course this also applies to HD channels

Good price on Play but Grundig not as good as used to be

 

This box was one of the cheapest available Freeview HD boxes when I bought, and does the job, but certainly feels average quality. I believe they are now made by the same company as Goodmans and Bush; certainly the remote is exactly the same as my Bush...

A Great Piece Of Kit

 

Got this for my parents due to the switchover and was amazed at how easy it was to set up and how clear the picture is, especially in HD. All in all a great purchase.

When working ok, good picture quality, good design.

Very slow to warm up, slow response to handset, picture freeze at start up. You can never be certain of start up and often have to turn off and back on at mains. Expected better for price and brand.

Constantly needs rebooting (ie unplug wall socket) - sometimes\several times before it will work and not just show frozen or blank screen
