Canon Digital Rebel Reviews

The Digital Rebel's autofocus system is excellent, especially when using Canon USM lenses with the ultrasonic focusing motors. We were quite impressed with the new EF-S lens even though it is a relatively inexpensive optic.

The Canon Digital Rebel is an excellent camera at a remarkably low price given the cost of other Digital SLRs. No doubt prices will drop further and cameras will improve over the next few years, but right now the Digital Rebel sets a price/performance...

Canon Digital Rebel

If you're tired of sluggish performance from digital cameras, or if you have a collection of Canon lenses you want to keep using, then the Digital Rebel is a real bargain. It lacks some features of Canon's previous low-end digital SLR, the EOS 10D, but th

If you want one, buy one. I'd get it here or here. Also I suggest the black version over the chrome one. The newer XT which I'd get here or here (here or here in black) is a little better, but probably not enough to justify the additional price. If...

Canon Digital Rebel

So there you have it. Suddenly those $1000 fixed-lens cameras don't sound as appealing as they did last month. Is the Digital Rebel the D-SLR for the rest of us? Is the 10D worth the extra $500? Find out now in our review

Excellent image quality ; Low noise, even at ISO 400 ; Robust performance ; Much easier to use than previous Canon D-SLRs ; All the benefits of a D-SLR: lenses, flashes, and full manual controls ; Zero redeye ; Incredible value for the money ; Long...

Average burst mode performance (especially compared to EOS-10D) ; Many limitations compared to 10D (noted in chart at top of review) ; Not a fan of the flash as AF-assist lamp system

For those who want top-notch photos, robust performance, and no gimmicks -- and you can part with $900 or more -- the Digital Rebel is the camera to get this holiday season.

Canon Digital Rebel (300D) Review

It's the Image Stupid. Nice color, nice contrast, and very printable out-of-camera JPEGs make this a snapshooters delight ; Bang for the Buck! US$899 for a rather full-featured DSLR is as good as it gets here in early 2004. Add another US$100 for a...

Plastic Fantastic. Exactly what you'd expect for an inexpensive body; you'll want to take precautions to keep this camera sheltered from the elements. The color LCD on the back has no additional protection, so is susceptible to scratching with rough...
